Quick and Painless

Our 2 year old German Shepherd/Husky, Lea, started Limping for no apparent reason. We took her to the vet and the initial reaction was it was systematic of Lyme's as she had previously tested positive for the antibodies. Lea required a bunch of tests equaling about 350 dollars. We have had Pets Best since we adopted Lea but this was our first claim. I was a little worried that they would deny us because we have not yet gotten a diagnoses on Lea and are still in the treat and see stages. They processed the claim quickly, even with having to obtain more records from the vet. They paid the entire claim, minus deductible and co-pay. We couldn't be happier.

Gastritis Claim

Thanks Embrace,Claim Process was nice and easy for my first one. Gives me even more peace of mind. (As much peace as I can get with 2 young pups that are into everything!) Keep up the great job!

Astronomical increases with renewal

I had an AKC policy on my Aussie Shepherd for 5 years. I was outraged when my policy went up with this latest renewal to double the monthly amount resulting in an increase over $400 per year! I was not sent a notice of the renewal, and quetioned why it went up (when my payent was drafted from my account. My pet is healthy as only seen annually by the vet. I called and they told me the increase was "across the board for everybody". They are also slow in paying and their "reasonable" charges are lower than you can get treatment for. Watch out for these guys!

Best Overall Vet Insurance Company

i work at a vet clinic, for which we solely support Trupanion for puppy/kitten pet insurance. Even though prices have increased alot, overall the company is quick with claims, and the no limit life time claims is a great bonus. Awaiting to see what the new owners bring to the table, so far so good. Just don't decrease your payout percentage you'll sadly turn into petsecure=:(

Thank You for Helping Us, Help Our Pet

When Izzy (a fluffy orange haired kitty) threw up all day and wouldn't eat, we knew it was time to take her in to the emergency vet. She couldn't get sick on a weekday, when her regular vet was available, that would just be too easy. After a physical exam and x rays, Izzy's naughty behavior became apparent--she had eaten a hairband, the things that had been expertly hidden from her, and which she must have found a place to expertly hide them from us. While surgery was averted, the night's stay in the hospital was extremely expensive, although well worth it. Once our claim made it into Trupanion, we knew within just a couple days that a check was on its way. You covered all but a few of Izzy's needed treatments and once our deductable was applied, we got over half of what we spent back. THis is why we have pet insurance--we knew at least one of our animals would have trouble along the way. It was easy to work with you and we recieved the money before the credit card bill was due. THANK YOU!!

Good Claim Response So far!

We've been with Trupanion for a little over a year with both our Yellow Lab (1 yr old) and Kitten (1 yr old). Our vet recommended them when we were getting their first checkups. We did some research and read the good reviews and decided to give it a go. We're glad we did. Our Lab had kennel cough (much to our efforts to prevent it) and the ER tests on a holiday was covered. Our Kitten recently swallowed an object and we were not prepared for the $3k+ ER visit and surgery for that, we lucked out and the surgery was not needed but the tests, etc cost several hundred. After submitting the claim request we quickly received a response that it was being reviewed then followed up communication on its progress. We promptly received our reimbursement check (minus of course our deductible and coinsurance). It's come in handy already and we're only a year in. Only bummer is sometimes large claim files get lost in FAX neverland - although they cleared that up quickly after we resubmitted which was great.

I'm a believer

When I first started looking into pet insurance I was very leery of the whole concept. I calculated the cost of raising a dog over an average life span and thought that perhaps the benefits of pet insurance might not outweightinsurance cost per lifetime of my pet. I am definitely one of those people that tend to think nothing would or could possibly happen to my pet, I'm responsible, he's a house dog, etc. After speaking with several old hadn pet owners (friends, my parents, friends of friends)I decided to bite the bullet. In less than a year it proved to be very helpful. My little 15 lb Ace got a cat tail stuck waaaay down his ear canal while bounding through a field with weeds twice as tall as he is. The removal cost me about $325, after submitting my claim, Trupanion reimbursed me 90% in 2 days!!! I was expecting a week. I am very pleased with the concept that they will reimburse for illness and injury and not for the cost of services you would normally incur. After all, if you didn't have it, it would cost you the same. Lastly, i want to mention that their customer service and responce time is really admirable. Typically, the online chat is friendly, quick and polite. All of my emailed inquiries were answered in a day.
