what a blessing
I never considered pet insurance before but after bringing a dog with papers from out of state to Alaska, thought I would try it for the first year. Turns out we really needed when faced with $7500 worth of hip dysplasia surgeries. I didn't believe I actually got reimbursed before my credit cards were due! I have thanked my two vets for helping.

This insurance carrier is very responsive, courteous and timely. I have submitted claims for wellness rewards, sickness, and regular vaccinations and all have been handled promptly.

Quick, but thorough review & response time
Thank heavens for pet insurance. I have two dogs who have had several health issues. Embrace has been there for us through all their trials and tribulations and instead of feeling exasperated having to deal with an "insurance company", Embrace has made the financial aspect of this much more bearable. Claims are handling quickly and within 1 - 2 weeks of being submitted. Thank you, Embrace.

Thankful
I purchased this insurance for my dog, Rocky, about a year ago. It has really helped in vet bills but we also had an unexpected accident last year and had to rush Rocky to the emergency vet. I don't know how I would have been able to afford the emergency care without ASPCA Pet Insurance.

Big Dog Bloat Surgery - 3am ER visit
When my dog had retching issues and a distended stomach at 3am, I took no time to consider my insurance requirements. I just took my dog to my regular 24 hr emergency vet.
After surgery and a two day recovery, I had a $4,700 bill.
The vet stamped my embrace form when I came to pick up my dog. I took that doc, and all of the payments (1/2 estimate pre-pay and remainder at the end of the visit), scanned them, and then emailed them to the claims email address.
There were some issues with mis-matching birthdays since I went to an ER vet and not my regular vet (whom has my current info). The ER nurse made some assumptions as there wasn't time to properly populate the on-boarding forms.
I asked the claim agent if this was an issue and he assured me that if my typical vet had the correct info, I should be fine.
It was no issue.
I also forgot to sign my claim form when I first submitted it. This also wasn't a deal-breaker as I was contacted to re-submit: no big deal.
about 10 days later, I received an email stating that my claim was approved and the amount I would be receiving.
Seven days later, I had a check for around $3,500.
With all of the sketchy stories and websites out there regarding pet insurance, I really only half expected Embrace to pay out.. and, if i did get anything, I figured it'd be a paltry sum due to some fine-print exclusions...
There was no BS, no back & forth, no issues.
I recommend.

The AKC My Experience
I had the AKC insurance -- it was awful the entire AKC company from the employees’ who answers the phone, to the claim processors, to the actual "quality" of the policy. The AKC has many areas that allow them not to pay the claims; they don't cover arthritis, diabetes, hereditary, genetic conditions. They have annual maximums and per incident maximum as well. I have cancelled with them and now with a reputable provider who does cover all of what I indicated the AKC does not for LESS money then I paid the AKC for Wellness Plan. Watch out for the AKC coverage because in the end when you need the insurance -- clearly the AKC is not there as my experience was and I incurred thousands of dollars of expense not to mention the enormous premium I paid to the AKC. Can you believe when it was deemed medically necessary the AKC even denied euthanasia with the most enriched plan they offered which is what I had. Please do your research and remember my experience before committing to this dreadful insurance – clearly I can’t call them a provider – since they only provided me with anguish. My Experience is I paid for the ILLUSION of insurance.

Friendly, Fast, and Easy
I recently submitted my first claim with Healthy Paws. My 7 month old French Bulldog had contracted Giardia over Christmas. I had to take her to a different vet than her usual one since they were closed for the holidays. Healthy Paws helped me gather her medical records from the new vet, and old vet, saving me the legwork. The claim was processed in a very short amount of time, and they even called to check up on how my dog was doing! I spoke with a couple of different customer service agents, and they were all so nice and helpful, I wish more companies could follow their example.

RETHINK Pets Best insurance policy
based on the fact that if the company feels you are too much of a risk they have the option of canceling your policy. Then you are out of luck since then most likely your pet will have preexisting conditions. This is one reason I chose to go with pet plan for my other two pets. They did pay quickly for my cat but unless you are familiar with vet costs the limits they offer per incident are too low and they have lifetime caps. I went with Pet Plan for my other two pets and am very pleased with them. No lifetime limits and has $20,000 year cap which refills each year.

Health costs go up as pets get older...
I received a letter in the mail for ASPCA Pet Insurance shortly after spending hundreds of dollars for my dog, Spooky, to have bladder stone surgery. Since both Spooky and Waffles were over 10 years old, I realized that their health was likely to decline over the years and the costs would only increase. Waffles is no longer with us due to Cancer in 2008...ASPCA helped to cover the costs of his care and now Spooky has just completed treatment for a ruptured Anal gland and Vestibular Syndrome. I'm very thankful to have ASPCA Pet Insurance.
