Reimbursement rates for major metro areas are inad
I have two young puppies insured through ASPCA under their level 3 plan with continuing care. Level 3 includes wellness care. An unfortunate string of accidents and illness in their early months had us running to the vet almost weekly for a short time. I found that ASPCA's "reasonable and customary" reimbursement rates fell far short of my vet bills when it comes to non-routine care: x-rays, ekg's, etc. They also have a pretty lengthy list of expenses that are "exclusions" and are ineligible fore reimbursement. I have calculated that my actual reimbursement on vet expenses has averaged between 30% to 50% per claim, which pretty much defeats the purpose of having insurance. In my opinion, this insurance is a poor value for the hefty monthly premium, especially in light of the fact that they do not cover hereditary and congenital conditions. This basically negates coverage for most major issues a dog is likely to have outside of accidents.

Embrace is #1!
I was very skeptical when I first signed up with Embrace for our new Aussie puppy and our older Aussie. After 3 claims on the puppy and one on the older dog, I am impressed. Everything was just as stated in the policy. My vet's charges were in line with the schedule of benefits and 80% of what I paid was promptly refunded to me. Thank you Embrace for a great product.

Worth the money
We were getting pretty frustrated about paying vet bills every other month for our cat who goes outdoors at night and has apparently too much fun. Anyway, we finally asked our local vet, who keeps repairing him, if there is medical insurance for pets like humans. Our vet recommended ASPCA Insurance and we have never been happier. It has saved us money and allowed us to provide our cat with the best care without worrying a lot about cost.

It pays to do your homework.
My love is for large breed dogs and their vet bills can add up very quickly. We lost our last rottie to cancer several years ago. I called him our platinum plated baby because we paid for all his expenses out of pocket. I don't regret a dime, but after several years of chemo treatments, I knew the next puppy we got would have health insurance. I did ALOT of homework into pet insurance before I settled on Embrace. Could not be happier 4 years later. Great company with great pet people. The 1st year our bullmastiff was perfectly healthly, then the 1st knee went, so here was the 1st TPLO, the next year the 2nd knee went with the same repair. Both are very costly repairs. Embrace does not predetermine what each breed of dogs are predisposed to and tell you they will not treat for that while others do. Why have the insurance if they are going to do that? While the TPLO's have been the major expenses, Embrace is easy to deal with on any level of treatment depending on what policy you choose. Again, this is a great company.

Peace of mind.
I have had your coverage for my dog Cloie for about 10 years. During that time Cloie has had a few problems. She tore the ligament in one of her legs, she had bladder stones, and also had to have some skin growths removed. Each of these problems were expensive to correct. I was so grateful to have the Petshealth insurance and recommend all pet owners to obtain it. Petshealth representatives have been so courteous to me and handled my claims in a very timely manner. I would, and have recommended them to neighbors and friends. It has been wonderful for my baby and best friend.

Pets are part of the family
We got this insurance for our pug just incase she ever needed anything in the future. You insure your children and treat your pets as part of your family...so why not insure them also? It just made sense to me. I've only used the coverage for small illnesses so far but it was a great help to get reimbursed so quickly. My dad recommended the insurance to me and I would recommend it to everyone!

Very happy with Embrace experience
Started with Embrace after a rather horrible 12 months period with my three dogs. It has functioned as I had hoped. Mostly I have paid the premiums and not put in claims. But...when I have had to put in claims I have been very pleased with my experience. Sometimes it seems like I've had to do lots of paperwork but this was just because on the initial claims for a dog, you are asked for more. I am very appreciative that Embrace covers hereditary conditions. I have cavalier king charles spaniels which are prone to mitral valve disease and had few choice in companies who would voer this.

Better judgement for pre-existing conditions
My feline had a checkup in 7/10 and passed with flying colors. In early November of 2010 I took him to the vet because of an increase in fluid intake. A blood panel and urine culture was done to find out what was going on. Both claims were denied because of pre-existing condition. I was told that because the increase of fluid intake was mentioned in the vet's notes that the claim processors labeled it as kidney failure and denied the claim as pre-existing. I don't know how they could diagnose when my vet was still trying to rule out things that could be wrong. An accurate diagnosis on his part had yet to be made.

AMAZING !!!
Archie tried to eat a bee - it stung him on the inside of his mouth - he started throwing up, and having trouble breathing.Off to the Emergency Clinic for treatment.
We submitted the claim by Fax the next morning, we had an immediate response by e-mail from Trupanion and the claim was processed and paid in less than a week.
Trupanion staff are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable.
This is our third dog and third insurance company (one per dog !). This is the best yet.
Thanks, Trupanion
This was the third time we had submitted a claim, and the previous two were handled in the same efficient, professional manner.
