Thank you Trupanion!!
One week before Thanksgiving our 2 year old Mastiff became ill. Upon waking Thursday morning she was lethargic and disinterested in eating/going out. I left work early to get her to our vet. Initially they suspected an intestinal blockage per xrays. Upon doing blood work they found her red blood count was down to 9% and she needed an immediate transfusion. We rushed down to the nearest emergency care facility (an hour away) where she was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA). She spent the better part of ten days at the facility receiving round the clock care and numerous blood transfusions and expensive immunosuppressants. She finally began to stabilize after 8 days. My wife and I were worried that we were going to have to make the hard choice. Thank goodness we didn't. We submitted a claim of over 10k to Trupanion. They covered everything save for our $100 deductible and a 10% copay.
She still has a long way to go, 6-8 month of treatment, and even then there is no guarantee that her disease won't strike again. But we feel confident that if it returns (or if another problem comes up), Trupanion will take care of us.
Not only would I recommend them to anyone I know, I will never have another dog that isn't insured by Trupanion.

Trupanion Insurance is Criminal!!
I have a 3 year old lab that I insured from a puppy because I had previous problems with another dog. They have raised the premiums twice now and I have just received another notice they are increasing my premium - ALMOST DOUBLE!! My lab has had skin problems and now I can't even go to another carrier and be covered because this would be considered a pre-existing condition. It's absolutely criminal that they can get away with this and don't have to answer to anyone. They can arbitrarily decide to double my premium - I feel like I've been dealing with the black market. I would stick with a plan that offers premiums that often

Prompt attention and reimbursement payment
I filed a wellness claim and received an e-mail letting me know it was received immediately. Within 10 days I had a check delivered in the mail. The response from Embrace is faster than my health insurance claims! I am very happy with my coverage and attention from Embrace.

Saved our Christmas
A few months ago we lost our beloved 13 year old cat Perry. Being a military family, Perry supported me through several tours of duty separations including my husband's deployments to Iraq... so this totally broke our hearts. A couple of months we adopted a beautiful kitten we named Schonau, a sweet boy who really started to ease the pain of losing Perry. The day we returned home from our Thanksgiving trip Schonau started a series of seizures that we have yet to get under control. The pain of losing our greatest little love and the thousands of dollars spent (and we are still paying off) in the process, is only exacerbated by the fear of losing our new little one and the additional thousands of dollars that we have just incurred over the last 3 weeks. With all of this stress, financial expense, and the upcoming holidays we thought we would have to cancel gift giving this year, but I am so glad that I made the investment of insuring Schonau under TruPanion. We are still trying to find the cause of the seizures and trying to save his beautiful life and it was such a relief to know that Trupanion covered 90% of his vet bills. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to afford anymore care for his ailment and we now have the hope that we can continue to support our little Schonau. Because my husband and I had determined that we would forego any gifts this christmas in order to help afford all of these vet bills, Trupanion truly saved our christmas. I am so glad that I signe

Wish I had Embrace sooner
I would like to thank Embrace for reimbursing me for a fair amount of the veterinarian services that was performed on one of my two cats that I have recently.
I had previously had two other cats as pets before I had the two I have now, but never had pet insurance. I always thought it was unecessary and perhaps a bit of a scam. So I took the two cats I had then to the vet at times and paid full cost for services. I had those two cats for over 16 years.
I can now say however that I truly regret not obtaining pet insurance then. Embrace Pet Insurance, at least on their part, have shown me that it is indeed a worthwhile investment to have pet insurance to help ease the financial costs of having a pet.
Especially two.
I am especially pleased at how Embrace has handled the claim. The Company is professional and the claim was processed in the time frame they spoke of which is good enough for me.
I urge anyone out there on the fence thinking about getting pet insurance or not, to do so. And I absolutely recommend Embrace Pet Insurance. I'm glad I did!

Beware rollover date
Hartville Pets Health Plan is good except for one major problem: when the insurance date rolls over, anything you discussed with your vet before that date is considered "pre-existing". BS if you ask me. My date was mid-December, and we discussed some options with my vet in November but didn't pursue the treatment until January. The claim was denied on account of it happening in a previous year, despite being with the company for 8 years! I have left the company over this.

Sound financial decision
I've historically questioned the reasonableness of paying the annual pet insurance premiums on my two dogs, as the generic deductible seemed high and wellness coverage was questionable. However, when my lab was diagnosed with a torn ACL earlier this year and the estimated bill approached $2,800, I was glad to have the insurance in place. ASPCA did a good job of walking me through the process, and payment arrived within two weeks of the surgery. Coverage was very reasonable and the overall process was fairly painless. My dog received the full care she required, and the coverage essentially paid for the prior five years of premiums. I’m concerned about the ‘pre-existing condition’ clause affecting future issues, but I was glad to have the insurance in place as it certainly eased the financial burden of an otherwise difficult process. I intend do maintain both policies going forward if only for the peace of mind they provide.

ASPCA Health Insurance was a good choice for us
We adopted our 9 pound maltipoo, Duke, last year and signed on with ASPCS insurance after exhaustive research with numerous companies. At the end of the day, we felt good supporting the ASPCS organization and hoped that the trust we had in the brand name would carry over to their pet insurance.
Lucky for us, we made the right decision. Our Duke had a couple of typical "puppy scrapes" that first year - eating acorns in the yard once which sent him to the vet for IV fluids and another time after ingesting fertilizer off a neighbors lawn. Both times our little guy got really sick and it was nice to have the peace of mind that we had insurance to off set the huge costs involved in treatment.
Initially, we bought our policy for the well-visit coverage. While that offered a reimbursement towards neutering and some vaccines, we felt he best part of the covereage is for illness. When we renewed our second year, we ditched the wellness plan and signed on for pre-existing illness coverage instead.
In the long run - it is reasonable and the ASPCA folks make it really easy! Our claims were processed quickly and fairly. Also- they are not big on "hard sales"- I felt that they cared about my pet as much as I did! hanks ASPCA!
