Healthy Paws Inspires Trust!
We recently enrolled with Healthy Paws and were so impressed to find a company that treated us so special. When we were enrolling our dog, Bentley, we found their customer service group to be very informative and friendly, clearly outlining everything that was covered along with those things that were not covered. They went out of their way to make sure that we understood what we were getting. There were no pushy sales tactics, just people that really cared about Bentley and us being protected. We hope that Bentley is never sick and never has to use this insurance but if something bad happens we trust that they'll be there for us.

Best investment made as a pet owner!
I adopted two Bichon Frise pups in March 2006. While in the vet's office one day, I picked up an ASPCA brochure on pet health insurance. It sounded like a good idea, but I was skeptical that it would be worth the cost. In October 2010 the male Bichon snapped the ACL in his left hind leg and had to have immediate surgery - estimated cost $1100. I saved the itemized bills from the surgery and the follow-up care, went online and printed a claim form, and mailed the package to the insurance company. Within four weeks of mailing the package, I received a check for $654 of the approximate $1100 bill. I suddenly realized that purchasing pet health insurance was the best investment I had made since becoming a pet owner. Not only did it provide peace of mind for me, but it made it financially possible for my pet to receive the best quality of care needed as a result of the accident. I am proud to be an ASPCA customer and to recommend ASPCA Pet Health Insurance to every pet owner who values the health and well being of their pets.

we cancelled
We discussed covered details on the phone with a rep in detail before we purchased; the info proved not to be true. When we made a claim they kept finding reasons not to cover....after we addressed the first one they then came up with another that we not ever mentioned. We thought it was a scam not to pay a claim.

AKC Insurance Equals HUGE Let DOWN
I am very disheartened with what I thought was a respectable insurance provider. The AKC has only provided disproportionate premium increases and not provided a practical product. You pay over a $1,000 dollars in annual premiums on the Wellness Plan; yes they will reimburse you after the deductible for heartworm, annual shots. This does not offset the despicable reimbursements (if any) being with the AKC insurance. They lose submitted claims, the customer service is rude, they pay on a fee schedule which is something unrealistic, and won’t cover hereditary conditions or arthritis, and the processing of the claim is sluggish. The frustration you undergo is incredible being with this provider. I have cancelled this insurance and so glad I did. Now my sweet baby is covered with Embrace, a provider that actually provides customer service, GET THIS even hereditary conditions, arthritis, allows you to customize the plan, reimbursements not based on a fee schedule and you select the percentage of reimbursement, no “per incident” deception as the AKC has – that is a huge one – so watch out for that! ABOVE ALL – my new carrier communicates with experienced professionals who are thoughtful, attentive, considerate, compassionate kind as well as timely claim processing, and well-informed staff. I had many an experience with the AKC insurance. I was with the AKC for 5 years so I speak with experience on how dreadful they are as an insurance provider. My advices to anyone w

Great Insurance
People laugh when I tell them I have pet health insurance but we laugh last!! After purchasing our first puppy who was sick every time we turned around we started looking for insurance to help cover his vet cost. Of course when we got the insurance he started to be healthy once again. Then on Christmas Day he was playing and broke a toe nail and we discovered a lump in the back of his neck. We were at the vet 3 days later and surgery was done to remove the tumor and thanks to Trupanion they covered 90% of this bill. After all was said and done we only had to pay $53.50 for his surgery instead of the full amount. Love this company and I tell everyone I can about them!!!!!

Great first time experience
I've had this insurance for a little over a year, but this was my first time making a claim. Every representative I was in contact with was very helpful and courteous and made the process as painless as possible. I am very happy with my experience and the company.

Watch your credit card statements!
We had Trupanion for several months and made a few claims (nothing huge, no surgeries, etc.). About 9 months after inception of the policy, I received a call from a supervisor saying that Trupanion had accidentally forgotten to charge their customers' credit cards for several months -pretty loose accounting practices (I hadn't noticed as my husband handles them). The customer service supervisor gave me the option of continuing the policy and getting those months caught up by my paying them, or cancelling the policy altogether (even though I had made claims during that period). I decided to cancel the insurance as it was very expensive for our dog $84/month, and we weren't using it much. Fast forward seven months later. Today we received seven charges (all dated the same date) on our credit card bill, each $84. I called Trupanion and they argued that I needed to repay them what they had forgotten to bill me last year. I told them about the conversation I had with the supervisor last year. I also asked them why are they are trying to charge me NOW for those months? They replied, "Our end-of-year accounting showed that we never did." So, their accounting department has made two pretty serious errors on the same account, and I'm supposed to pay for it?
