Excelent Insurance

I have never had pet insurance but when I noticed how much my puppy (golden retreiver) liked to get into stuff I got it. My dog 1 year old got an ear infection. I took her to the vet 173.00 later. I filed a claim with Trupanion. Faxed it with the bill and her medical records. Within just a day or so I got an email that my claim was complete I will receive 90% of the cost back excluding 35.00 for the office visit. Very fast they did not give me one bit of grief. thank you trupanion.. And Koda is feeling much better!

Money well spent.

My dog ingested a kitchen implement that over the course of a month worked its way through the digestive tract before finally becoming lodged in the intestine. He became quite ill and required emergency surgery to remove the object. Total medical expenses were nearly $2,900.00. My AKC Pet Healthcare Plan covered approximately $2,100.00 of the expense. Payment was fast and hassle free. I faxed in my my claim the night I took my dog home from the hospital and had a insurance check in hand in about eight days. I have had this insurance for several years and my experience has been excellent. Thank you AKC Pet Healthcare Plan!

Worth every penny

Last Fall, my cat Maisie was hit by a car and suffered a severely dislocated hip. By the time a neighbor found her and got her to me, too much time had passed for the vet to be able to pop the hip back in, so she had to have an expensive surgery to repair it. Between the initial diagnostic visit to the vet and the surgery, I ended up spending $1900, which is more than I could afford. If I hadn't known that insurance would pay a good portion of that, I would have had to put her down. With insurance, I recieved $1082 of that back after my deductible and some adjustments (the orthopaedist's charges were several hundred dollars over the reasonable and customary amount). Maisie still has a limp, but she's running and jumping and back to her old self thanks to ASPCA Pet Insurance. The staff are always a pleasure to work with (unfortunately this isn't the first time I've had to make a claim for Maisie), and the processing and payments are timely. I have two other cats and they are all insured for catastrophic coverage. I also now pay a littlbe bit extra each month for continuing coverage across enrollment periods. This is well worth it. In 2009, Maisie broke her foot at the end of a period, and the follow-up charges weren't covered, because they fell in the new year. I tell everyone I know to insure their pets. There's nothing sadder than having to put a pet down, because you can't afford to pay for a seriou illness or injury. The coverage I've had for Maisie's t

Don't waste your time with this insurance

I would not recommend this company to you unless you need the most basic coverage and then it is a toss up if the premium would save you any money or not. Their own rep said it was not generally worth it. That should have clued me in about them, now with 20/20 hindsight. My experience: I took out a policy on our older dog just because she is precious to us and she is slowing down... I wanted to be able to take care of her if anything happened... Their "paperwork" and claim forms are all on line and you need to download them and read the long list of exclusions with a vet... before you give them a dime. Their web site says "we cover straight 80%" of accicents and of all claims after the deductible. I thought short of cancer or something serious that would sound like accidents etc. and meds. would be generally covered. Long and short of it... My dog slipped on loose rug while running on hardwood floors and got a limp that wouldn't go away. I thought oh great! I got this insurance just in the nick of time.... I can get her checked....Well, 3 xrays later and expensive meds I got a bill for $500... from my vet with a diagnosis of a "torn cruciate ligament." No worries ... I have this insurance that covers accidents and meds and I will only have to pay 80% after my deductible.... EXCEPT ---AND YOU GUESSED IT.... I NEEDED TO READ THROUGH TO THE NUMBER 16 IN THE EXCLUSIONS!!! Guess what is NOT covered by this great insurance company... 'Torn cruciate ligaments! " or at least du

The plan worked just like I expected it would !! !

Recently our VERY busy and working 4 1/2 yr. old Australian Cattle Dog endured two deep laceration injuries on her left foot. Besides her having to wear the "cone of shame" for 5 weeks and stay indoors, my claims experience with EMBRACE was the bright spot of the entire situation.Upon submitting our claim forms and required vet reports, I recieved an acknowledgment from an Embrace rep (great Customer service)and subsequent settlement. All this happened over the the course of 8-10 days!!! Very impressive...I've had this insurance since our dog was 1 year old and this was our first claim, well worth the investment... Happy with Embrace

This is the first time we purchased pet insurance. Our veterinary office recommended VPI but after careful research and reading online reviews we chose Embrace mostly because they cover breed specific conditions and their clear reimbursement plan. So far everything has worked out as promised. Customer survice is professional, caring, and quick in their responses. I wish we would have signed up earlier.

I wish this was my insurance!

Both my dogs have Embrace coverage. Embrace had great reviews when they first signed on, and all have proved to be true. Diesel has been lucky enough to not have any serious physical problems, just allergies. But, Maverick has had a hip replacement and knee surgery. Embrace has been great in helping me understand the coverage they have and very easy to talk to. Embrace also has a very simple process for submitting, they request an itemized list from the vet or doctor, via email or fax. They send an email once the vet/doctor has submitted the breakdown, which helps with knowing the vet is on top of things too. Thank you for your help over these past few years!

Has been easy and saved me money

My latest rescue has been sick off and on since I got him and having this insurance has saved me a great deal of money. It is easy to file the claims online (if you have a scanner) and the turn around time is very reasonable. I also review other options before buying and I believe I made the right choice.

Why didn't I sign up for this Insurance years ago?

Like many people today, my finances are extremely tight. I delayed in signing up for pet ins. because of the cost & rumors that I've heard about some ins. companies only covering 'certain' claims, etc. The bottom line is the monthly cost is not that expensive considering the peace of mind it gives me & I love my dog. And the rumor that SOME insurance companies give you a hard time about certain claims, is the reason why you have to do your homework! I did, and hands down Healthy Paws Insurance has the best reputation and coverage is great. The staff, in particular Terah & Jen have been outstanding and extremely helpful in walking through the process with me.
