What exactly do they pay for?
I've had multiple claims denied for my dog (and was a customer for years). For some reason or another, they will say that whatever it is I'm claiming, that it is a "result" of some other pre-existing codition that I did not even put a claim in for (nor is it related). They put in multiple requests for medical records years back so they could do everything in their power to find some other illness to "link" the new problem to. For example, my dog was putting on extra weight(and had other issues), so the vet had thyroid tests (bloodwork) done to rule out an abnormal thyroid. I was told the claim was denied because the blood test came back "negative" and that the claim was a related issue of skin allergies...huh?? Simply because I happened to have my dog in that day for a visit for her allergies (that I do not claim). They couldnt even pay for that portion of the visit, her bloodwork to check her thyroid, which was something totally unrelated to her skin allergies. Im sure if my dog breaks a leg or something that too will be related to allergies...Only thing I can say is that customer service is quite pleasant to speak with as they are spewing out excuses of why they won't pay....
I work in healthcare and constantly have to fight with Aetna to pay for services for my patients, I guess why would their pet insurance be any different? Sad.

Frankie- Sweet Cat- but Gets in Cat Fights
My 16 # medium hair white/orange male fixed cat, Frankie, is a very sweet cat- but over the past 4 months has been in about 6 cat fights. Injuries have been to his face and neck-- no abscesses as we've gotten him quickly to the vet. Fortunately, the ASPCA pet insurance has been there for him and helped us a lot toward his vet expenses. Frankie is an inside/outside kitty but is pushing the limit as to if he gets to go outside again-- don't want to have another meet up between Frankie and the striped young male cat who's moved into the neighborhood.

I love this company!
We have used Embrace since 2007 for our Rotty mix dog and it has been the BEST company!! They really pay attention to their customers and go out of their way to help you. My dog, Kodo, has had numerous health issues, including a botched ACL surgical procedure, and they have never denied payment. They have also replied personally to my requests, comments and inquiries immediately.
I WISH the other companies I deal with had the quality of service they do.
I tell EVERYBODY about Embrace and at the dog park I always bring up the peace of mind we get from having Embrace Pet Insurance.
Thank you for all you do!

happy so far
My accident-prone lab puppy has made me very well acquainted with our vet in her short 7 months (UTIs, infected bite wound, eating non-food objects). Embrace has processed all the claims quickly and with a minimum of fuss. I recommend them.

Good With One Caveat
We really like ASPCA Insurance. We love the peace of mind that it provides. The only bad thing we have found is that we have trouble knowing if the claims are received. It seems to take an inordinate amount of time to have them reviewed and logged into the system. There were a few that were supposedly not received, so we had to start sending the claims in with a return receipt. If we send them in by regular mail, it seems to take three weeks before it shows up in the claim folder. If we do a return receipt it will be about a week and a half.

Fast and Easy
I used to have VPI, and the difference between the two is amazing. VPI paid such a small percentage of my claims, and they took forever. I just filed a claim on 3/12, and it was turned around by 3/18! Pets Best pays exactly what they have promised, and there are no surprises about things suddenly not covered. I never write these reviews, but I really do appreciate this service, and I have been telling everyone about them. There are some bad pet insurance deals out there - VPI is one of the worst - and so I really appreciate that Pets Best has turned out to be as good as they seemed.

Thank God we had Trupanion
We spent thousands on our Pomahuahua over her 13 year lifespan, and when she passed in 2009, we decided that, were we to get another dog, we would buy insurance. Our vet suggested Trupanion. I went online, read about it and signed up. Smart! Smart! Smart!Within the confines of our $250 deductible, Trupanion has saved us thousands, as our new, 16-month-old Pomahuahua (aka Pomchi) is truly an adventure dog and has been bee-stung (anaphylactic shock), eaten rat poison and this week, was bitten in the face by a rattlesnake.
I cannot say enough good about Trupanion.
