Overall Good Experience
Our small two year old Dachshund/Terrier mix rescue swallowed loads of inedibles and required stomach surgery to have everything removed. After a reasonable review period (and a number of lost faxes, echoing the above review) Trupanion paid 90% of a very expensive trip (three days and two nights) to the veterinary hospital. We were very grateful for the coverage.

Fast processing and reimbursement
I have been really happy with Embrace so far. I have put in two claims and both have been handled quite quickly with fast reimbursement as well.

A welcome relief when visiting the vet.
ASPCA has provided great coverage for my pet for the past two years. Even though you worry about your pet it aleviates the worry of the high cost of pet visits to the vet. With insurance you are more apt to take optimal care of your pet.

Generally ok but too much like human companies
ASPCA had been generally good to have but too many exclusions like human insurance. The typical problem is the usual and customary charge is set so low that no one performs the service for what is designated to be what you say is usual and customary.

Very Disappointed at the moment!
I was just informed that since my policy just renewed that my pet (who is in the middle of being treated for an allergy) has to be cured/illness free for 180 days for anything to be covered. I understand at the beginning the the policy but renewal for current policy holders is unacceptable. I am researching and will be changing companies very soon!

Records Review is EXCELLENT
Healthy Paws' policy of offering a pre-committment records review allows pet owners to know exactly what will be covered and what won't. And the review is pain-free--your vet's office faxes over the records and in about a week to 10 days, you have your answers in writing. It's nice to know going in whether or not the policy will work for your dog.
Very pleased so far.

Immediate attention to your claim.
Maggie had conjunctivitis in one eye. I submitted a claim for the medication and the vet exam. After a period of reviewing my claim, Embrace covered close to 95 percent of the bill! A check was issued right away.I also appreciate the fast attention I get when I submit a claim.

Not too excited
Don't go into this thinking it will be different than dealing with a regular human insurance company. Their job is to try and deny you service and make money, not to help your pet. Understand that and you will be a lot less frustrated and stressed about it.
