5 month old puppy - Had claim check in 4 days
I have a 5 month old female Havanese and I purchased pet insurance for her on 4/9/2011. I figured I should get it while she is a puppy and completely healthy to avoid not having the chance to purchase it when she may need it later in life. Well, she ended up needing to be hospitalized less than a month after the policy was purchased. After some blood work, medications, and an overnight stay she was feeling much better. Since we had the insurance we didn't hesitate to take our little girl to the Vet. We knew we had some protection to offset the upcoming costs. It gives you peace of mind.
PROS:
They have an ANNUAL Deductible not a per incident deductible like many of the other larger pet insurance companies. If I get pet insurance, I don't want to be stuck having to pay $100 or $200 per incident...I want to have it taken care of the first time something happens for the year.
They PAY based on ACTUAL COSTS...not some table(Huge difference...ask other companies how they pay out)
The PRICE for the policy is very REASONABLY priced for the amount of coverage. (I chose $100 deductible and 90% copay)
Had CLAIM CHECK in hand in THREE Days.
Amazing speed. I made sure to follow their instructions and had the vet clinic fax up her medical records, since it was her first claim, and I then faxed the completed claim form as soon as I returned from the vet hospital. As I mentioned earlier....claims process was so easy and quick.
CONS:
Lifetime maximum of $2

Watch out for fee hikes in 2nd year
I have never had pet insurance before. So when I got my next dog I decided to get pet insurance. I had Trupanion insurance for 2 years with no claims. The price jumped from $37 to $65/month for a 3 year old mixed dog.I cannot tell you how the handle claims since I never had one.The rate adjustment is due to technological advancement not the age of the dog they assured me. So watch out for the price increase in 2nd year. I am not happy and will be looking elsewhere.

Just what we need.
When we got our last dog, we decided to get pet insurance. We are retired and on a fixed income. Our last dog had lots of problems and our vet bills were frequent. So far we have had two expensive emergencies. One was poisoning from mushrooms and the other was from eating grapes. The latter also met an overnight stay at the vet hospital. We probably would have to consider not having pets if we didn't insurance.

CLAIMS DENIED!!!
My claims have been denied and I have lost hundreds of dollars. A specialist made a mistake on an onset date of my dog's allergies but he didn't respond in time so not only were his claims denied, but every allergy claim ever made on this dog will be denied. It doesn't matter that the vet said he made an error and the onset date was NOT before the policy. They will never pay an allergy claim. They even denied a yeast ear infection stating it was an allergy...

VERY Disappointed in Pets Best
At the present time I am very disappointed in the service fromn Pets Best. For one thing ...do not like to leave messages and think a live person to talk to would be an obligation of the company for their customers. Would like to discuss the decision of claim.

great customer service!
So far I had only one claim after my deductible and everything went very smooth! The customer service is outstanding and very responsive. The claim money after Co-Pay was deposited quickly into my bank account! So far I am very happy with Embrace Health Insurance! I hope we won't need it again but it sure gives some peace of mind to have it in place!

So glad I bought it
My saint Bernard has had two gastric surgeries, pneumonia, and hypothyroidism. I have had good experiences with the customer service, only one claim quibble, and everything else paid back to me promptly after the claims were filed. We have had over 10,000.00 in vet bills in two years, so I am renewing and probably upgrading from essential plus to wellness. I wish I had done this from the start, since all things cost so much more with giant breed dogs.

As Advertised.
I purchased your insurance on both of my Irish terrier pups, male & female littermates. Healthy and no problem for about two years, and then things started to happen. Baxter developed auto-immune disease, almost lost him. My vet took over, and after various heavy medications and tests, he recovered. Pets Best paid 80%, as advertised. He later developed an intense allergy, itched everywhere. After Tests and medication, he is well on the way back to normal. Pets Best paid 80%, as advertised.Maggie, our girl dog planted a kiss on me, and I noticed bad breath--highly unusual. I looked inb her mouth, and found a yellow tooth, and discolored gum above it. The vet found a busted tooth, had to be pulled. Thc claim is currently in process, but I habve no doubt that it will be paid 80&, as advertised.
It would be foolhardy to own a dog without Pets-Best Insurance--my opinion. Thank you.
