Embrace Claims Processing

Embrace is great at processing claims and has a quick turn around. My recent wellness claim was submitted, approved and I should receive my check, all within a 7-10 day period! In order to have this expedited process you are required to submit, to my knowledge for all claims, a claim form that is unique to your pet. You can't just print a generic one like in the past and fill in your pet's information. You do have to go the website to print one. But it is not the end of the world for the extra step, because my refund should arrive to me shortly.

Quick action

I was pleased at the speed with which my claim was processed. I spent more time working out how to submit the claim, having never done it by computer, than the time it took to process.

Bulldog Troubles

My wife and I have been rescuing English bulldogs for over 5 years. Most of the bullies who've come to live with us have been older dogs. Bulldogs have a lot of health problems in general, and older, not well-cared for dogs have even more. Over a year ago, we enrolled our four current bullies with ASPCA pet insurance. Since then, we've lost two of our girls, but have gained one more, who's also enrolled. The insurance has more than paid for itself in that time, and saved us hundreds of dollars in vet bills.

Fast and full reimbursements

My cat Shadow recently had an eye problem that led to his eye being removed and ultimately costing around $2,000 overall. My claims were paid based on the actual cost, not on some fee schedule, and I was reimbursed the 80% on everything on the bill without any squabbling. The reimbursement took less than the 15 days they had allowed for. Also, when I had a question about an email I received, their customer service on the phone was very friendly and helpful.

Great service

I have been an embrace customer for about 4 years now. During that time I have made claims ranging from twisted knees to corneal ulcers to ear infections. Every claim has been quirky and fairly processed with a concise explination of coverage. Knowing that I have insurance for my pet removes any issue regarding money when I make decisions regarding his health. And knowing that embrace will stand behind their coverage makes that security real when it counts.

They are getting better each year.....

This is great insurance for my young dog but their 'usual and customary covered charges' are way off the rates paid in Manhattan. They underpay on claims and when I called them to ask them to send me to the vet that charges those very low 'usual and customary covered charges' in Manhattan they couldn't find one... But if my dog does get really sick I know I will get reimbursed for something and that always helps!

Skin Ailments

Having the insurance keeps my wife and I from thinking twice about taking our dog to see the vet. If he's not feeling well, we take him to the vet. The only negative we've found is reasonable cost reimbursement rate does not appear to adjust for location, so we always take a bit of a hit on that (we live in NYC). Still, the insurance makes pet health care manageable

High Rate increase

I have only had Pets Best for a year now - I have never filed a claim --I previously had AKC for all my 3 dogs and was happy with them except did not like the $3000 per incident limit and the rate increase which started to be over $100 each year for each dog. so I switched to pets best at the suggestion of a friend. Before I switched I contacted Pets Best to verify rate increases. They indicated they do increase their rates annually but only minimally - "usually less than a dollar a month" I have the email to prove it - so I went with Pets Best. Yesterday I got my annual statment with an increase of $120/yr for each of my 3 dogs - my monthly credit card payment increased by 60%- plus the deductible was increased to $100/per incident from $75. I am not happy- I am going to start looking elsewhere. They now have Aetna as an underwriter and I have read some reviews that indicate this is not a good thing.
