Wellness Rewards claim handled perfectly
I've had Embrace Pet Insurance since October 2008, and added the Wellness Rewards benefit at renewal time in 2010. This is my first dog. I chose Embrace after comparing as many pet insurance companies as I could find.
My dog requires anesthesia just for an annual checkup because she is such a fighter. She also requires annual cleaning of her bad teeth. I nearly fainted when the bill for this year's checkup came to $875 because three teeth had to be extracted.
Embrace picked apart the vet bill to categorize each item as possibly eligible for reimbursement under medical, dental, prescription or wellness benefits. Since I don't have dental coverage (that may change soon!) for the dog and she wasn't ill or hurt, the only thing Embrace could pay out was the Wellness Rewards.
The handling of the claim was outstanding. First, I received an e-mail saying that they were splitting the claim into two claims: one for accident/illness and one for wellness benefits. Then I received another e-mail advising me that they couldn't pay on any of the dental since I don't have that coverage. That was very nicely written, and didn't come across as a cold denial like with human health insurance. The final e-mail confirmed that I would get the full $200.00 in wellness benefits.
The entire process took a tad over two weeks, which is outstanding. I signed up for the direct deposit, and the money went straight into my checking account. Everything was very smooth, and the company

I was surprised with the quick response.
I was skeptical of pet insurance programs and thought that it would take a prolonged time to process the claim. I was pleasingly surprised. I think ASPCA pet insurance was timely in their response and fair in their evaluation and reimbursement.

So far so good
I am pleasantly surprised at the very good service from Pets Best. I was a bit concerned having never had pet insurance before, but I rescued a large dog and figured I am bound to need it at some time! This was her annual check up and vaccine renewal, so nothing major, claim was simple, easy and response was super fast. I am VERY happy with Pets Best.

Everyone's health insurance should be so good
I adopted a kitten, Mo, last November. My vet suggested I get pet insurance from Trupanion. I remember my dad telling me when I first bought my own health insurance-- never skimp on insurance. Well I am so happy I bought Trupanion. This month (June), my cute kitten decided to eat a shoelace. It took several visits to the PetER over the course of 2 days to diagnose why he was vomitting and lethargic. X-rays, blood tests, ultrasound and then surgery. The shoelace was stuck in his intestines and stomach. I remember when the surgeon told me how much the surgery could be, I responded, "I have a credit card and pet insurance, so do whatever you have to do". He told me some people have to put their pet down if they can't afford surgery. I cried.
Trupanion did as advertised. I got a response to my claims in record time. They kept me informed of the status of the claims. And, when I brought a possible error or oversight to their attention, it was quickly rectify, with an apology.
Trupanion pays 90% after deductible and exam fees, but given the cost of all the tests and surgery, my Dad and the vet were right. Buy insurance. I was out of pocket only about $600 when the bills were about $3600
I am extremely pleased with Trupanion. Mo has fully recovered and hopefully has learned not to eat shoelaces.

Thankful that I have insurance for my pets
My twin sister and I are Christian clergywomen,Lutheran tradition. We had visited family and friends in Chicago on our vacation back in 2006. We had to hurry back home because we both had unexpected funerals to prepare. Upon our arrival home on that Sunday evening my cell phone went off. It was our veterinarian. We looked forward to picking our sweet dog up on Monday Morning. We had kenneled our dog with our vet. The vet informed us that our beloved Springer Spaniel/ Burnese Mountain dog Poncho, was not doing well. We went to see him and he was completely paralyzed. Our vet suggested we get him to the Emergency Vet clinic. A wonderful surgeon, Dr. Reimer discovered Poncho had blown a disk which caused the serious paralysis. This godly man performed surgery and saved our wonderful dog. The sugery, hospitalization etc. cost over $4,000. We learned about this wonderful insurance and purchased it and it has been a blessing ever since. Our sweet Poncho passed away last Summer 2010. Our cat Toby was a stray and a wound manifested on his left flank. Several antibiotics, vet visits, and surgery but the wound would not clear up. CT Scan showed he needed more intensive surgery. Dr. Reimer performed the touchy surgery. A three inch twig was removed which was near his aorta. Dr. Reimer said that when he was a stray, he must have impaled himself on a branch. ASPCA insurance and especially the Continuing Care plan was a great blessing for us and Toby.

Great Insurance-Great Price-Excellant service
Pets Best is great. Very straight forward - you pick the deductible and the amount per incident and they pay 80% of your bill, period. No age restrictions on you pet, I insured my 14 year old Lab, my 12 year old German Shepherd plus all of the other house pets. They are very affordable. Their website is great - can get a quote on line immediately, compare their different plans and costs very easily. I fax the claims in and receive the money in my bank account within a week. Great Customer Service. They are very responsive to both phone calls and e-mails. At one point I had 4 dogs and 4 cats insured (Got mulitple pet discount) for $178/month. In one 2 week period, Pets Best reimbursed me for over $2400 in claims. (for two of my geriatric dogs). I have definitely received more money back than I have paid out in premiums.
No one should be without Pets Best. I highly recommend it.

good customer service
First of all it was upsetting enough to learn that my dog had hip dysplasia. On top of that, I was worried that like my previous insurance company they would find some way to deny my claim. It would have made things much more difficult if the insurance company wouldn't help. I am happy to say that Embrance covered my claim.

Pet Insurance is certainly worth purchasing
After loosing one of our cats to kidney failure, and seeing the expense of her care, we decided that we wanted to protect her sister Maggie, and this year Maggie did get a urinary track infection and the ASPCA pet insurance covered more than 50 percent of the cost, and our Maggie is fine now.

Now a satisfied customer
I believe there were some growing pains with Embrace as I originally had an issue surrounging what I was told would be reimbursed and then it was not. They have really clarified their processes and over the past couple of years, I have been very pleased with their timeliness of reimbursements, clarity of coverage and customer service communication. I now recommend Embrace and my entire extended family is using their insurance with satisfaction.
