Abolutely first class operation, and a god send!!!
We had never had pet insurance before with our previous English Bulldogs, but after one very expensive experience we decided that with the next puppy we would get pet insurance. So we researched several companies and decided on Trupanion. According to their website it appeared they were by far the best: you pick your deductible, they pay 90%, no limits, and unlike other companies they do pay for medical issues that are predisposed to certain breeds. We picked up our baby bulldog on 12/11/10. We had a 30 day waiting period, and then we were covered. Our puppy was coughing a lot and very lethargic starting on 2/14/11. He was put on antibiotics and it appeared he was feeling better until the medication stopped. He was eventually diagnosed with pneumonia after lab work, and xrays. He was put on different antibiotics after a trans tracheal washing to find out what antibiotics would be the most beneficial. Even with several rounds of antibiotics the pneumonia kept coming back. Our vet referred us to a specialist at Tufts and after 5 months of being sick our puppy just had soft palate surgery. It appears he may have been aspirating due to his long soft palate (which is common in this breed). Trupanion to date has paid us over $4500.00. I get emails when they receive the claim, the status, and when its been processed. Payment is prompt. I never have to think about calling to find out where payment is. If I have questions they are pleasant and helpful. I have told every

Responsive customer service
My 7-year-old bichon/lhasa mix has had Embrace insurance since he was 3. Recently he had 4 seizures within a couple of weeks. We are still investigating possible causes, but we've made four trips to two different vets, and already have heard that our first claims have been processed. I am so impressed with the humanity and courtesy of all the "Embracers." Emails are prompt and clearly explain what has been done. I even got one email saying that our claim was in the queue and not to worry that it had fallen into a black hole! Another time when I called with a question, the person I spoke to was very kind and solicitous of our pet's welfare. I did my research before we chose Embrace, and all of the positive comments I read have proved to be correct.

More than happy
When I decided to get a new puppy I researched my favorite breed and looked for nearby reputable breeders. The very next day of getting Henry I went to the vet and had my new family member checked out. They confirmed that I got a healthy, sturdy pup. Months later I was referred to a specialty doctor with the diagnosis of a rare disease. Your pets are a part of the family and you don't return them like a piece of equipment in your house when something goes wrong. I was left to pay very high vet bills and even though I had a pet insurance, I was not really expecting much financial relief... Pet Insurances don't have the best reputation... To my surprise I learned that the one I had picked is really helping. I just got an e-mail telling me that I will get a good portion of what I have spent so far, back... Thank you so very much and I will certainly spread the word about Embrace!

Great Insurance
I use Embrace Insurance, They are great. They pay for everything. I have not been turned down once yet, for drugs, care or anything. My deductible is $250. I am now starting to have checks sent to me after I take Bruce in. They send personal e-mails to check up on Bruce too. You may feel like you are throwing money out the window. But just wait until you have a $3000.00 surgery, it will then pay off.

8/10 Quicker reimbursment than I thought
My Scottish Terrier was vomiting everyday for a week, I brought him to my vet and after an x-ray, a foreign object was found within his stomach. He was referred to a specialist. An endoscopy was preformed to remove the toy he swallowed. And after some medication and time, he was back to his normal rambunctious self again.Of course out of pocket, the entire procedure cost a lot but after turning in my claim ASPCA was able to reimburse most of what I paid for my Scottie's treatment. The best thing was the response from ASPCA was a lot quicker than I thought.
Thank you guys.

Bad customer service
Have a policy with our dog - no problems. Opened one for our cat April 4th. Wanted it billed April 7th, so we made that change online. They billed two premiums: one on April 4th, one on April 7th! Billed again on May 7th! Sent an email, and they apologized and said they would take the next payment in July. As promised, no payment was taken in June. July arrived, and they took another double payment! They now a had 5 premiums for 4 months of billing. Wrote again and called: they refused to remedy the extra month billed and said the next payment would be due August 7th, and we'd just be paid a month in advance throughout the life of the policy! When I became angry and said I would cancel, they didn't seem to care at all.
I've asked them to cancel the cat's policy; I may follow suit with the dog. Absolutely disgusted with them.

Great service and follow up!
My Dobie, Annie, was injured by a dog who attacked her in our yard. Her canine tooth was dislodged and emergency extraction was necessary..it was a weekend of course, and Annie had to be taken to an emergency clinic. ASPA promptly paid most of the cost.
Several months later a fracture of a molar was discovered and the doctor felt it was related to the earlier injury. Again ASPCA insurance came through with prompt payment and no hassle.THEY PAID FOR MORE OF THE BILL THAN I CLAIMED !!
Annie and I are very pleased with ASPCA and will we will insure our newly rescued Dobie with ASPCA also!!!!

Wish reasonable and customary was more real
I'm so glad I have ASPCA pet insurance and I recommend it to everyone.
That said, I found that what you think is "reasonable and customary" was more realistic. In Chicago where I live I found your prices were significantly lower than what my otherwise reasonable vet charges. To pay me $100 after a $100 deductible on a $400+ bill, seems really lame.
