ASPCA pet insurance is worth it.

ASPCA pet insurance is well worth the premium. Claims are easy to submit and claim settling and payment are prompt.

Great Service, but one question.

I'm very happy with my PetsHealth insurance plan, the great service and prompt payment with ongoing communication. While I don't always use or need it, it is great to know it's there when something unexpected comes up. One question: Is there a place to go to see what you regard as a standard price for particular services, such as teeth cleaning, rattlesnake venom shots and boosters, etc.? Some vets in my area charge outrageously high prices and even if you pay 80 percent, I'd still get stuck with a bill higher than necessary. Or, if you disallow coverage over a certain price, then I'd really get stuck. I'd like to be able to look up what you regard as current and customary pricing for my region so I can pick vets wisely and, hopefully, along the way help keep costs down.

Terrible Service and Rip Off

We got our pet insurance from trupanion for our two dogs. We have our pet insurance early this year (2011) and the only time we use our insurance is when both of our dog got ill. I sent them to the vet the first week I suspect they have kennel cough, so we don't have to pay too much for the vet bill although we have pet insurance. Right after they've been seen I mail the claim and the same week I received a notice from trupanion regarding about our claim being process.... (2months later) I call and ask to see how long it's going to take before we get our reimbursement.... they said they're waiting for the Vet to send the copy of the medical record. They called few times and left a message but they haven't recieve any feedback from our vet. which I doubt!... Our vet is easy to get a hold of and at one time we are out of town and needed the copy of our dogs medical record, they sent us right away... they mail and fax it to us to make sure we recieve the copy. After I hang up the phone with them, I call our vet and told them whats going on and what they told us is they never recieve a phone call nor notice from mail asking the copy of our pet's medical record. Called back trupanion and told them what happen on the phone. I ask them to double check the contact number and yah! they just figure our that they've been contacting the wrong place. I told trupanion, they have the copy of our vet bill and all the information they need regarding the information of our vet is just right th

Urinary Tract Infection

I had to go into surgery almost the same time that my cat got sick and had to also go to the hospital, as well. My cat sitter had to take her back and forth to the Vet 4 times. It was traumatic. I didn't worry because I knew I had insurance from ASPCA.

Glad I Chose To Insure My Pet

I wasn't sure about signing up for pet insurance, but I decided to give it a try and see what the results would be when and if it became necessary to use it. It did become necessary, within a few months of getting the insurance, when my Malti-Poo Riley got sick, resulting in 3 separate trips to the vet. I submitted a claim for each visit, and was reimbursed a good portion of the cost of each. I am very pleased with ASPCA pet insurance - it offset the cost of treatment so that I could focus on giving Riley the care he needed to get better. I'm glad I made the decision to get this insurance!

Timely and reasonable

My 5 year old shepard-lab mix had several episodes of vomiting and diarrhea after a recent hiking trip and I was worried that she was becoming dehydrated after all the hiking in the new england heat this year in addition to her vomiting, etc. I didn't think it was going to be an expensive trip to the vet, but you never know. I had peace of mind knowing that I didn't have to worry too much about the bill as the ASPCA has always been reasonable and prompt with their reimbursements, from teeth cleanings to coverage of her annual medications to unexpected visits to the vet.

Jack the pekingese - I like my ASPCA Insurance

Jack is my second rescued Pekingese. My first was named Charlie Brown and he was very healthy for most of his life with me (about 11 years). The last year of his life he stopped eating and lost a lot of weight, it toke the vets several blood test, X-ray, and CT scan to determine he had cancer. During these several months the vet bill was run $500.00 - $600.00 a month. After adopting Jack, I decided to get pet insurance for him. I did an internet search and talk with my vets about pet insurance companies and compared plans and rates before deciding to go with ASPCA Health Insurance in October 2009. The biggest deciding fact was the once a year $100.00 deductible, most wanted a deductible every time. Jack has been very healthy for the two years he has been with me. I have only used the insurance three or four time for small problems and once for his yearly checkup. ASCPA Pet Health Insurance reimbursed me 80% for these vet visits. Having the insurance saved me some dollars but it also gives me peace of mind about Jack quality of life.

Great program

There looked to be blood in my male cat's urine. It took several trips to the vet and different tests to determine the cause and find the solution. I was very pleased with the response time and prompt reimbursement. I am very happy with the insurance and how reasonable the cost is compared to other plans.
