Think Again
I had this insurance, it was horrible. I thankfully found a good insurance provider who actually pays claims promptly and delivers exactly what they say. This is a concept the AKC has failed to learn. They only denied my claims, had very rude customer service, took forever to even process the claims. The caps on the insurance is not adequate should you have a sick pup. Isn't that why we have the insurance? Well it is one of the AKC loop holes in getting out of claim payment. Then the premium increases are ridiculous. Check out other providers since my experience with AKC is horrible. I do not have an excellent provider who pays prompt and has outstanding customer service. My point, don't be fooled with the AKC name. You can have good insurance -- my experience is -- just not with the AKC

Worthless!
I had it for my 3 pets...they deemed everything as pre-existing (which they were not) and wouldn't pay a dime. It cost about $1000 for the year and it was money poured down the drain!

Glad we have it
After having 2 cats with many medical problems and no insurance, we adopted our Lhasa Aspo, Lucy, and made sure we insured her. While she is in good health, she has had some medical issues which were covered 80% after the deductible was met. It has helped tremendously. I wish there was some sort of coverage for dental, which is a common issue with this breed and is very expensive, but necessary for her health.

Hidden Trap
Be aware that Pets Best does not pay for all prescriptions. My vet prescribed and dispensed Proin-25 for my dog's urinary incontinence. Pets Best refused to pay. They said it was not approved by the FDA. The vet says it approved. The label says it is for veterinary use in dogs by prescription.

A Company with Integrity for a Change!
At first I was hesitant to go with a smaller company. But after diligent research and great referrals from a colleague, I insured my dog here and am so glad I did! I am an Animal Behavioral Biologist and author, and my darling dog who I adopted from the shelter, Ami, is literally going to be the main character in my next book!
A few months after my insurance started (fortunately I bought it almost as soon as I got him, Ami - my star character - started to lose his fur and developed a related dermal/hormonal condition! Poor Ami and so much for my beloved star being naked - without his fur coat! Not to mention his discomfort and sensitivity to the cold. Well, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance took expert care of us and we finally got his skin and fur in healthy condition again!
We weren't treated coldly and callously as the bigger companies do, and as long as they stay great, we will rave about them!

Great Service!
I am a first time dog owner, so this is my first experience with pet insurance. I have recommended Embrace to any other pet owner I know. They are available to answer all my questions. They let you know they have received your claim and the response time. The money is deposited right into my account and they follow up that I have seen it deposit. I love the caring approach they take with me and my pet.

Outstanding plan and people
When my vet suggested pet insurance for my new puppy I had no idea how to select coverage. I reasearched on the internet and evaluated what each had to offer before deciding on Healthy Paws and what a great decision that turned out to be!
My puppy has chewed and ingested several foreign objects which made him quite ill and required monitoring and numerous xrays from our vet. Healthy Paws responds within minutes to our claims and reimburses us within days of faxing the claim form signed by our vet. The coverage is fair and fast and most recently I received a follow up call to be sure my pet is feeling better. This plan far exceeds my expectations and I reccomend it without hesitation.

Like so many others, peace of mind!!! Big time.
I have been very lucky so far with my 7 year old cat because she is very healthy. I know that can change suddenly. I got ASPCA Pet Insurance a few years ago with the idea that if something costly came up for her care I wouldn't have to decide whether or not I could afford it. I live on a fixed income. I know ASPCA Pet Insurance will be there for me based on my experience in just sending in routine bills. They are always processed promptly.

Honored policy in full
After a sudden illness we took our 2-year-old dog to a well known emergency pet hospital. They treated her very well and kept us informed every step of the way. However, they had to conduct several test to determine and narrow down exactly what was wrong with her… at a time like that, you can’t pick-and-choose what tests you want and what you don’t if they are telling you what she needs, so we went along with the expertise of the hospital. At the end of a long day we had a groggy pup, and a bill that was over $900. Come to find out, she was suddenly affected by an ailment in which the immune system suddenly attacks the joint tissue in the extremities making it hard to walk and causes pain (there is a fancy medical term for it). Luckily a round of medication cured her, and now, in less than a month she is back to a playful, happy, pup. Embrace was so helpful. There is always a live person on the phone who is knowledgeable and ready to help. I believe they are in this business because they truly care about animals. When I went back to the vet to pick-up the dog’s medication I asked if he would fill out the Embrace claim form, which he did. I had my receipts and faxed it all in to Embrace. Embrace followed up with the hospital within days to request additional records. I received updated emails to inform me as to where my claim was in the process. I had a response regarding my expected refunds in less than two weeks, and Embrace had honored their policy in full. The

Peace of Mind for Dog owners
I have been very happy with my current coverage. I had originally had insurance with another carrier which covered a very minimum amount of limited services. I have a peace of mind now that if anything happens to Ginger who is 9 years old that I will have the means to help her remain healthy.
