The best investment I ever made.

I decided on insurance for my new puppy after my previous dog died from melanoma of the mouth. I spent thousands on her ,but unfortunately I lost her anyhow. It is two years today 8-11-11 that she is gone.

The Best Thing I ever Did!

We rescued a 3 mo old mixed puppy at the end of May. We named her Brownie. I never thought I would buy pet insurance because I had 2 french bulldogs 14 years ago and never had insurance and didn't think I needed it. This time I thought well maybe I will try it, you never know what could happen. It was the best thing I ever did! My puppy has been sick with Mange and secondary skin infections for 5 weeks now and the vet bills have been building up over $594 plus the $141 in wellcare visit. Pets Best Insurance has been very easy to submit the claims and have been processed within a 10 day time frame right into my checking account. I have bben extremely happy and satisfied with this service and company. I recommend not only having pet insurance for your pet but also getting it from Pets Best Insurance.

My pet's love deserves the best care

My little 5 lb. Maltese is a certified comfort animal for me. He knows when I am anxious and he calms me down. When he has illness (fever, infection from thinking he's a hunting dog, stomach problems), it's wonderful to know that his ASPCA insurance will help pay the bill. He has had to spend nites on intravenous twice and the charges have been reviewed fairly and promptly. My appreciation goes to ASPCA .

!!!BEWARE- They Bundle Multiple Illnesses into 1!

!!!!!!!!BEWARE if your pet has 2 or more separate illnesses at once or close together w/ Pets Best because they count that as ONE incident & it all counts toward the payout limit!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously- what's the point of insurance if your pet can only be sick w/ 1 thing at a time or isn't allowed to have a possible complication from treatment or illness?! My cat was misdiagnosed w/ Asthma then diagnosed w/ diabetes 3 months later & then got a kidney infection 7 months later & they counted it all under 1 incident! Hello?? When is asthma & diabetes & a kidney infection the same condition at all, much less MONTHS APART?? ? My veterinarian at UC Davis (who literally wrote the manuals colleges use to educate vets...Yes Pets Evil- you know who it is!!) hit the roof when I told him!! Their lumping these conditions into one have made me over my $7000 limit. I'm currently appealing the ridiculous decision & I have done research & found that TRUPANION HAS NO LIMITS WHATSOEVER ON THE LIFETIME OF YOUR PET!!! My monthly quote was only a few dollars more than Pets Best but it gave me 90% coverage compared to Pets Best 80% plus NO LIMITS! Anyways, here's the clauses in each contract: PETS BEST-- "Multiple diagnoses may be considered one incident, especially if occurred on or about the same time as: the original incident or claim; a complication of original incident; or presented for multiple medical conditions". $2500/$7000 or $42,500 per incident limit depending on plan. Embrace give me peace of mind

My last two dogs ended up with multiple medical problems and had to be sent to specialists. The cost added up so quickly, so I decided with my next dog I would invest in pet insurance. Well the good news is, so far she has been very healthy, but I also have the "Wellness" rewards on my insurance. This means for her annual vaccinations, check up and 6 months of heartworm and flea medication that added up to $218.00, all of it was paid except for the $18.00. I just took the claim form to my vets, she filled it out, I faxed it and after a week of processing I get an email the check is in the mail. How wonderful. Plus I have the added knowledge that if something does happen to my sweet little dog, its covered. The customer service if fantastic and I love this insurance. Thank you Embrace!

Think Again

I had this insurance, it was horrible. I thankfully found a good insurance provider who actually pays claims promptly and delivers exactly what they say. This is a concept the AKC has failed to learn. They only denied my claims, had very rude customer service, took forever to even process the claims. The caps on the insurance is not adequate should you have a sick pup. Isn't that why we have the insurance? Well it is one of the AKC loop holes in getting out of claim payment. Then the premium increases are ridiculous. Check out other providers since my experience with AKC is horrible. I do not have an excellent provider who pays prompt and has outstanding customer service. My point, don't be fooled with the AKC name. You can have good insurance -- my experience is -- just not with the AKC

Worthless!

I had it for my 3 pets...they deemed everything as pre-existing (which they were not) and wouldn't pay a dime. It cost about $1000 for the year and it was money poured down the drain!

Glad we have it

After having 2 cats with many medical problems and no insurance, we adopted our Lhasa Aspo, Lucy, and made sure we insured her. While she is in good health, she has had some medical issues which were covered 80% after the deductible was met. It has helped tremendously. I wish there was some sort of coverage for dental, which is a common issue with this breed and is very expensive, but necessary for her health.

Hidden Trap

Be aware that Pets Best does not pay for all prescriptions. My vet prescribed and dispensed Proin-25 for my dog's urinary incontinence. Pets Best refused to pay. They said it was not approved by the FDA. The vet says it approved. The label says it is for veterinary use in dogs by prescription.
