In June 2011, my 3 year old Polish Lowland Sheepdog was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. The choice to treat or not was so easy to make knowing that I had Trupanion Insurance. When I called them to make sure they would cover treatment, they were so supportive and helpful. We are now starting our 5th month of treatment which included weekly chemotherapy and a full body radiation treatment. Trupanion has turned around reimbursement almost every week, within a week.

We submitted our first claim with Pets Best and were told that nothing could be covered because his symptoms/diagnosis existed previous to our receiving coverage which is false. We have heard good things about Pets Best but I might just start putting aside money on a monthly basis instead of giving it to a company that doesn't even end up helping when needed.

I just found out that you consider a pre-existing condition anything covered in the previous year? Is this correct. If so I will change policies asap. I read this in an E-mail above from a customer. Otherwise coverage is good but I wish you would cover well being items such as flea meds.

This is my first experience with pet insurance and we purchased it for our two young Shiba pups. Trupanion has the most amazing customer service! They seem like they really care about your pet and try to help in any way they can. The response time and turnaround was really fast! They worked with my veterinarian to directly pay the hospital so I wouldn't have to pay $3,360.00 up front. They really surprised me keeping me updated on the claim process. I am so glad I have them as a pet insurance company.
