Exceptional Customer Service
I've never had pet insurance before, however, I find it hard to believe there are many other companies like Embrace. The people I've dealt with have been friendly and helpful and compassionate. I've received correspondence back from an Embrace staff member in which she would say something like she hopes Bella (my lab mix 1 1/2 year old) is feeling better or sorry she got into mischief. I can tell Embrace really cares about their customers, both human and pet, and that means so much. I would highly recommend this insurance to anyone.

Anad Sacculectomy
Jerika had an anal sacculectomy performed at a specialty clinic in Edmonton. Trupanion covered the claim within 3 days of sending it in. I have always had my claims covered in a timely manner and have never had a problem with this company

Healthy Paws isFantastic!
Our 1 1/2 year old dog was diagnosed with bilateral elbow dysplasia after becoming injured at the park. Healthy Paws was fantastic from the beginning, providing a simple claims-submission process, answers to questions right away, and reimbursement within one week! Based upon x-rays and a consult with a surgeon, there was strong indication that our dog may have fragmented coronoid process (meaning that painful bone chips may be present) and surgery was likely the next step. However, thanks to Healthy Paws, we were able to first have a CT scan (these are expensive--nearly $1,000 - but Healthy Paws covered 90% of this!). It turned out that our dog did not have the fragmented coronoid process and surgery was therefore not recommended! In addition, our dog does not tolerate a number of medications, and Healthy Paws has been covering the supplements that he has been getting. We are very happy to say that our dog is doing better, and we are so relieved that we were able to make the most informed decision possible thanks to the excellent coverage that Healthy Paws provides.

THANK GOD FOR PET INSURANCE
AFTER MY MIXED LAB BRANDY WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DIABETES I DECIDED TO PUT ALL MY PETS ON HEALTH INSURANCE. I CAME HOME FROM WORK ONE MORNING AND THERE LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE HAD BEEN MASECARED IN MY HOUSE. THERE WAS BLOOD EVERYWHERE BLACKJACK,MY PUREBRED LAB HAD SPLIT OPEN HIS TAIL AND WAS BLEEDING BADLEY. I COULDN'T GET A BANDAGE TO STAY ON IT ,SO I DROVE HIM TO THE VETS LIKE THAT. IT TOOK THREE OF US TO HOLD HIM DOWN TO GIVE HIM A SHOT. WE CAME HOME WITH A CONE AND WRAPPED UP TAIL.HE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO BUMP THE CONE AND PUSH IT BACK SO HE COULD CHEW OFF THE BANDAGES. AFTER AFEW TRIPS TO THE VETS AND BLACKJACK CHEWING ABOUT 4" OFF HIS TAIL WE HAD TO GET IT AMPUTATED. I PUT THE SURGERY ON A CARE CREDIT CARD. BECAUSE I HAD PAID THE DEDUCTABLE FROM BLACKJACKS PREVIOUS VISITS I WAS ABLE TO PAY OFF THE CARD. THANK GOD FOR ASPCA.

Totally Worth It!
My dog is big (100lbs) and getting older. I figured SOMEthing's going to happen sooner or later so I looked into insurance. I picked Trupanion because it seemed pretty straightforward. 8 months after I enrolled, my dog had a life-threatening emergency and ended up in ICU at the animal hospital. I was out of the state when it happened, and when I got the call from the hospital asking what I wanted to do should he need the $3600 emergency surgery... I felt so relieved that I could without a doubt say 'yes, please do it'. It was stressful enough worrying about my best buddy's health from 2300 miles away! He didn't end up having the surgery, but the tab still managed to be $1700 for all they had to do & his night in the ICU. I paid the deductible, exam fees, & 10% of the remaining amount so my part was $570. Trupanion sent me a check for $1130, which was $1130 I didn't have to cover! My dog is recovering and I am not worried about paying off thousands of dollars. The claim was simple and Trupanion had great communication with me throughout the process. Now dog insurance doesn't seem so 'crazy' to my friends. :)
