Overall, a happy customer
Overall am very happy but wish process time for claims was much quicker. It leaves a bitter taste that insurance companies take their time to process under the guise of "providing the best coverage" when it seems that reasons are being sought to not cover certain instances.

Excellent and Prompt
Our King Charles Cavalier developed a primary lung cancer tumor. All diagnostic services have been paid promptly. Surgery has not been submitted yet, but expect the same prompt payment.

Filing Claims is easy, good policies
If you review their policies, I think you will find that they offer excellent coverage at very competitive rates. I've filed 2 claims so far with them (both relatively minor) and both times the claim process was easy, and the payment was prompt. Also, they don't have a history of yearly astronomical rate increases like some of their competitors.

The Netflix of Pet Insurance Companies
I signed up for Trupanion last year. At the time they were just pushing through a massive rate increase to certain customers, yet they were still offering me a decent rate. I asked them about that and they assured me that this was an unusual occurrence and that only certain outliers were affected.
Now one year later it is me getting the 50+% rate increase for no apparent reason other than the desire to soak their customers and line their own pockets. Bye bye.
BTW, even before they did this I was considering switching. One of my cats had a upper respiratory infection when she was a kitten, not at all uncommon for kittens. She got some meds, and a week later got a clean bill of health. 6 months later she had a re-occurance, and Trupanion told me that all future such claims would be denied, because it was a "pre-existing condition". Really? A viral infection? Oh well, glad I'm switching to a more legit insurer. I'd urge others to do the same.

Embrace Reversed Their Decision
This is my first experience with Embrace. They initially denied my pet's claim ( She had been stung by a bee and Embrace catorigized this as a dermitiloligal issue )and after having them look back into her history and re-contacting our vet Embrace reversed their decision to cover the bee sting. They kept us well informed during the re-evaluation process always contacting us via e-mail to keep us in the loop.
