Fast claim service

I particularly enjoy VitusVet. Snapping a photo or two & submitting the claim beats having to fax the information. A transformative change.

Best Idea Ever To Invest in Pet Insurance! Easy to submit claims and ASPCA truly cares about your pet.

My poor Pomeranian puppy was diagnosed with luxating patella in both knees. We decided to undergo the surgery and much to my surprise Riesling was mostly covered by ASPCA. It was so reassuring to know that they had our back in time of need. Submitting claims were easy via the App and I got reimbursed through direct deposit almost immediately. They even called to follow up 4 weeks post-surgery to see how Riesling was doing. Awesome customer service.

Price

Annual price increases are too much too often and that does not make me happy.

So far so good.

So far so good. Great service. We put Trupanion Insurance on our 3 pets after having to make the heartbreaking decision of taking care of our pets medical care and paying our bills.

PROMPT PROCESSING OF CLAIMS

I have had Nationwide (formally VIP) for many years for several dogs and have always found them to be fair and they process claims quickly.

Worse than useless

I've done Pet's Best for two years in a row, and in both years they've never covered a single procedure, even after claiming my policy covered a yearly preventive exam. Completely useless. Save your money.

Continually Frustrated with Pets Best. Actually cancelled coverage

In the 4+ years that we had Pets Best, we submitted two claims, both of which were denied. The second denial was the most egregious (which we appealed) as the reason for the denial was because they either intentionally or accidentally miscoded what our dog had oral surgery for, claiming that it was not covered. As both the original diagnosis paperwork AND the notes from the day of the surgery indicated that the teeth were extracted because they were cracked, and that all other teeth were in great shape, it was a surprise that the Explanation of Benefits listed "Periodontal Disease" and "teeth cleaning" as the reasons for the surgery. Lo and behold, neither of those are covered. What a surprise. But wait, what's this? If you read the full list of covered items, damaged teeth due to an accident ARE covered. Hmmm. I wonder why they misinterpreted the veterinary notes then? Currently under appeal, but considering that the cost of coverage for each of our three pets went up double digits every year, and that getting a claim covered has proven to be a pain in the ass, we have elected to create our own version of a Health Savings Account for the pets rather than waste money on insurance that is proving to be useless. Thank you for nothing, Pets Best. I encourage others to give serious thought to pet insurance before committing. And to be careful with Pets Best, despite the other "positive" reviews here. Seems unlikely that people have only had good experiences with them, doesn't it? Does ANYONE truly love their insurance? Question it, I say.
