Can't say enough good things about this company.
I had my doubts about getting pet insurance, but decided to give it a try, figuring that I could always cancel if I wasn't happy with it. And when my young Shiloh Shepherd was recently diagnosed with a life threatening illness, I was half expecting to be disappointed in the support that having the insurance would bring. However, since the time I first advised Trupanion of my dogs illness, this company has been there every step of the way. 24 hours a day I've been able to get questions answered by phone, and every claim that I've submitted has been quickly responded to. The staff that I've spoken with or had written communication with, have been friendly and extremely professional. It was pretty devastating finding out that my young dog was suffering from a life threatening illness. Having this support group in place was the smartest thing I ever did.

Just keep getting better
I don't write reviews every time I submit a claim because everyone would get sick of hearing me praise Embrace. With four Great Danes, three of which are rescues, we discovered early on that insurance was a must! Everyone one of our dogs has been the beneficiary of an Embrace claim, some more than others. You know you did the right thing when you're on first name basis with the claims adjusters. The latest is a continuation of the initial torn ACL claim made earlier in the year for my Dane with Wobblers. Because he isn't a good candidate for surgery, he wears a knee brace (which Embrace covered) and is pretty much on an NSAID for life. If you add one extra thing to your basic Embrace policy, let it be the drug addition!! The price of prescription drugs for dogs is as much as it is for people and without insurance there's no way we could keep Dagobaz comfortable. That drug plan has paid for the policy of all four dogs over and over again.
And I just found out they have a tool where you can check the status of your claim on-line, which I think rocks!!

awesome
best thing i have ever done as a pet owner was to start pet insurance after my dogs first surgery.. The fee i pay monthly is cheaper then the coffees and beers i buy weekly hanging out with friends. Trupanion has made owning a pet just a waaaay better experience when it comes to vet bills. They are a great company that have helped me out of a jam more than i ever thought i would need.

Healthy Paws is AMAZING!
I am incredibly grateful for Healthy Paws. I adopted my dog Laika about 6 months ago and thought that it would be best to get her insurance because of past experiences with our other dog.
This is the best decision that I have ever made. Two months ago, Laika decided to eat an entire leather dog collar with metal studs. This was the first time that she was ever allowed to stay out of her crate for a few hours when we were not home..and the last.
Unfortunately, she had to get emergency surgery and the bill was over $2,000 dollars. The last thing that you want to worry about when your dog is going through something like that is money, and luckily I did not have to because of Healthy Paws.
I was reimbursed 90% of that bill, in a very timely fashion. The staff is wonderful, you can tell that they truly care about the well being of your animal. They are there to answer any questions that you may have and even send you personal emails to check on your pet.
You will NOT regret getting Healthy Paws Pet Insurance!

Quickly handled...the insurere NOT paying the HST, which is mandatory in my province, is most annoying.
