My almost two year old Coton de Tulear puppy is a very healthy breed and I want to make sure she stays healthy so the Wellness Program is perfect for me. Because of this program, I am able to afford all of her required shots and preventive treatments such as heartworm, flea and tick prevention meds. It works like a "health savings account".My pup is healthy, happy, and always gets the best of care. The forms are easy to file by my vet and the reimbursements are quick usually within 2 weeks. My pup did have one clain when she developed a limp due to a pulled muscle. It was handled quickly and of course will apply to the deductible which was in the amount that I chose. You can basically design your own policy, which is great since everyone's needs and bugets are different.

I bought pet insurance when I bought my Beagle puppy Reese's. I already had a cat, Jango, but did not invest in insurance with him. I wish I had insurance with Jango as he was diagnosed with asthma two years after I got him. I learned from that mistake and got insurance. I recently discovered a spot on Reese's ear that was bleeding and another spot on one of her paws. It turned out to be a benign cyst. I wasn't sure if this was covered by my insurance. I submitted a claim and received an email that I would be receiving a refund. I wasn't anticipating a refund, but it was nice to see the check when it arrived. I always though pet insurance was unnecessary, but I definitely realize just how important it is.

We've had dogs for 20 years without pet insurance, but after our last dog was put down and had severe medical issues (cha-ching!!)I realized insurance would have been a good thing.When we adopted Tory, a rescue dog, I started researching pet insurance companies. After a LOT of on-line research, I was most impressed with Healthy Paws coverage, and their customer reviews were amazing. I went with Healthy Paws as they seemed to be the only insurance company that truly cared about the animals. I joined in 5/2011 and only 2 months later she was bit by another dog. I didn't get around to filing the claim until 1/2012, but after faxing the claim form, within hours they responded to let me know my claim was received, which also included a heart-felt note from one of their reps that they were sorry to hear what had happened to her and hoped she had a quick recovery and is feeling back to normal. It wasn't long after that that I received another email to advise what was covered and the check would be mailed shortly (I went with the 90% reimbursement with $50 deductable plan!). All I can say is WOW! If only my own insurance company cared as much about my condition and were as efficient as Healthy Paws!!! You can shop around and compare for yourself but, take my word for it, you can save yourself a lot of time and trouble and simply go with Healthy Paws and decide which of their plans you want to go for! Complete scam, covers nothing. Not only did it not cover ANY of the claim amount, but I am out the $70 dollars a month I have been paying for 5 months. I am canceling the policy immediately

Trupanion is the best. You have the opportunity to choose which type of coverage is best for you and your pet. Their response is always quick and thorough. If you have a problem filing a claim they contact your vet direct. I have two Golden Retrievers, and having Trupanion gives me piece of mind. Would highly, highly, highly recommend them to anyone. I was very concerned that Sasha may not be covered since she had a pre-existing condition called Reactive Colitis.Sasha was vomiting so much she needed to be taken to the Care Hospital and then needed 3 days of IV fluids to help her recover. She tested postive for Giardia and all other tests came back negative. Within several days of putting forward a claim for almost $1600 I received an approval that Trupanion will cover $1445 of these recent medical costs. trupanion responded very fast to this claim and when I called to inquire about the "chance of this being covered" I was reassured in a very professional and friendly manner. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone!!
