You Saved My Baby
Words cannot express how pleased I am with Healthy Paws insurance. My little year old puppy Lola got herself into a lot of trouble recently with a double bowel obstruction. Apparently, she is a goat in dachshund clothing and likes to eat just about everything and anything that she can swallow. Needless to say we were in a state of near panic when she became very ill. Over the course of a couple days she had surgery and is now well on her way to a complete recovery. Thanks to Healthy Paws, during the entire situation, cost for her care and money were now an issue. They were there when Lola needed them with kind words, outstanding customer service and amazing support. I encourage anyone who has a pet as part of their family to check out Healthy Paws and purchase insurance. Thanks so much Healthy Paws.

Godsend!
I nearly lost my best friend in the whole wide world 3 weeks ago. My tweenie Doxie "Lola" had a double bowel obstruction. Little did I know this 17 month pup was a goat eating large chunks of her chew toy, dried palm husk, dental floss, grass and my long hair! Multiple visits to the ER were so stressful and when they finally found the diagnosis she had to have a gastroenterostomy. Knowing that I had Healthy Paws pet insurance helped tremendously and I could focus my emotions on Lola, not the financial constraints. It's sad t0 think that people who don't have the funds would have to put their animals down. My theory on insurance is, if you have it you won't need it, but I am so glad I purchased it and grateful beyond words to this fantastic company. My claim was processed promptly in less than 2 weeks. I received no harassment, just a pleasant letter of well wishes for Lola and a welcomed check for nearly 90% of the total cost. If there is one think I can pass on to others it's take the time to get pet insurance... the $29/month is so worth it when you are faced with a $5,000 emergency visit bill.

Good coverage, good service
I've never had pet health insurance before, but felt I might need it when I got 2 young kittens 6 months ago. I am paying extra for the wellness coverage--which just paid $200 each towards their spaying.
These folks also get A+ for service--informative emails at every step and phone availability when I had a question

Excellent Coverage Options
After searching at least a dozen different pet insurance sites, we found that Embrace was the only one that had really good dental and preventive/maintenance coverage in addition to accident & illness coverage options. It was super easy too - I chose my annual deductible, I chose my % co-pay, I chose the dental and wellness options I wanted...done.
The only problem I've had is that a couple of my faxes/emails have not gone through. I had to resend them. I've been told that their system software is being updated and it should be fully functional soon though.

Not thorough
Pros:- covers illnesses some pet insurance plans don't
- annual deductible
- customizable plans
- covers wellness
- everything is done online
Cons:
- more expensive than other pet insurance plans
- upgrading plans will make previous conditions pre-existing
- considers dermal cysts and histiocytomas pre-existing
- missed the attachment of Orthopedic Exam
- phones broke down
- took 7 calendar days to finally talk to and clarify an e-mail with a particular Claims Embracer who was always not at their desk. Claims they had phone issues.
- took 29 calendar days (no holidays) to process my claim and they missed the attachment
- took 34 calendar days (no holidays) to receive my refund

What a relief!
I hate to say it, but I was surprised when Embrace paid the cost of an eye surgery as the insurance company originally advertised! Not only did they pay the claim amount (minus deductible), but customer service was extremely friendly and contacted me to make sure I had received the payment. Thank you, Embrace, for doing what I paid the insurance premiums for!!

Peace of mind not to have to bear all the cost.
Our German Shepherd Frodo had somehow pretty much destroyed his knee, and because of his size our vet recommended TPLO procedure. The surgery went well, but weeks later there were draining fistulas in his leg, and ultimately it was determined that he was trying to reject the plate. Yet another surgery then to remove the plate. The total for all of this was about $5,000, of which insurance paid over half. As I tell people, my dog has better health insurance than many people in this country.
