HONESTY IS NOT THE POLICY
I have been researching and reading 100's of reviews from this site. There were many complaints about insufficient payments on claims for ASPCA, so I called with specific questions regarding payments based on avg. cost of treatments in my area. 1st call was of no help ASPCA customer service rep wouldn't clarify and did nothing but hedge. I spoke with a supervisor who wasn't able to be specific. To paraphrase: "I can only tell you what is on the list provided." She repeated policy coverage. When I requested specific answers to specific questions there were none. Theoretically, if my cat' s treatment were to cost $1200.00 and their avg. for this area happened to be $700, theoretically, I would be left with a bill of 500.00! Since ASPCA refused to give me answers and there are so many complaints, I will NOT be giving my money to them. Beware! Research THOROUGHLY!

Puppy Insurance
We got Sarge our puppy Shepherd insurance the first visit to our Vets. Thank God we did, he got so sick all of a sudden and was hospitalized for two days and that cost was close to $1000. Trupanion was amazing they reimb. us exactly what they said they would and it only took one week. Much faster than my insurance plan with my work in reimbursing for medical expenses.

Satisfied customer
In the past 3 years since insuring our dogs with Embrace, we have submitted 2 claims. Both these claims were dealt with entirely to our satisfaction and I would sincerely recommend this insurance to other pet owners.

Awesome!
We joined Trupanion only 5 months ago. Just a few month after joining, we discovered a peanut size mass in my 11-yr old dog's anal sac. After being removed we unfortunately found out it is cancer and cells were still remaining in his anal sac. We have had several visits to the oncologist to figure out the right options and meds for him. It took about 3-weeks after our first claim was submitted to receive the first check since they review your pet's previous medical records, but the first check came with checks for the additional 4 claim that were submitted - almost $1800!
In such an already emotional and stressful time Trupanion has given me the greatest peace of mind. I know with Trupanion I am giving him the best healthcare available, not just the best healthcare I can afford.

Responsive and caring
Before adopting a new companion, we went through the medical expense records of our last pet George. We realized that we had spent over $5000 on him his last 2 years of life due to an issue with the nerves in his lower spine. He had a tendency to rush up to other dogs to say "Hi!" only to be bitten by the other dog (several times). While we don't expect the same type of issues with our new companion, we decided it would be best to get insurance for him just in case. Recently our dog, "Buddy", was not eating and had become extremely lethargic. We needed to take him in to the vet. Such a relief to know that he is covered and finances don't enter into the equation. Buddy had to have x-rays and blood work done. We keep the pet insurance forms at our vets office and they send the paperwork into Healthy Paws. Buddy was at the vet on a Monday and Healthy Paws had a reimbursement check to us by Thursday. Healthy Paws always follows up with an email to make sure that our fuzzy friend is feeling better. They also support pet shelters and animal rescue groups which is a real plus ++ for us since that's where our best friends come from. The level of service they provide is far and above anything I receive from my (human) family's insurance plan. I would recommend Healthy Paws to anyone who cares about their fuzzy friends.

Money in the Bank - Hooray!
Everyone at Embrace is always very courteous, whether responding by email or communicating by phone. They don't try to trick you or skirt around your issue. My only suggestion to better serve Embrace's clients is to have one, and only one, representative handle the claims submitted on one date. That way, they can accurately review the claims and alleviate the back and forth questions due to multiple claims being submitted at one time. Also, and I have been advised that this is being worked on, the issue of not being able to view your claims online if you are using an Ipad or Iphone needs to be resolved. My recent claims were handled within a few weeks and both service personnel were helpful.
