Hugh rate increase
My greyhound had an injury to her right front leg which required x-rays and medication. All claims were paid in a timely manner and I was pleased with Trupanion until I received notice that my premiums would increase by 62%. I can lower the premium by having a dedutible which would save me $10 a month and each separate incident would have a $50 deductible for each incident. The office visit plus the deductible means a cost of $100 per incident per visit.

Would never have a pet again without Pets Best!
I was very hesitant about getting pet insurance. My husband said it was a scam. One night, I just decided to sign my aging dogs up. Thank god I did. A few months later, one of my dogs developed some pretty serious health problems. We were COMPLETELY surprised by how easy, fast and straightforward Pets Best was. No hassles whatsoever- they cover everything they say they do. It made us feel much better that we never really had to make a medical decision based on cost anymore. Thank you so much Pets best.

Wish ASPCA cover more stuff
Overall the claims went well. We got some money back for our Bichon Frise because she had a UTI. The claims took about 6 weeks to get a check back, so it's not too bad if you don't need the money right away. I wish they will pay more for certain tests, medicines, and maybe special food.

Healthy Paws is Highly Recommended
I learned about the importance of pet insurance for my dog the hard way. She had never been sick one day in her life until last November when she was accidentally poisoned. I rushed her to my vet who fought valiantly to save her life. She required surgery and 24-hour intensive care. For several agonizing days I wasn't sure if she would live or die but she finally pulled through due to the extraordinary care she received. I had no pet insurance at the time so I had to pay the entire bill myself which was about $8,000!
I was determined that would never happen to me again so I began to review pet insurance companies online. I visited many sites and compared the benefits and exclusions of their policies. Some companies set fixed dollar amounts for procedures that were far less than the actual cost of the treatments which I didn't like but Healthy Paws was different. I was concerned that Healthy Paws was a new company but I liked the clarity of their user friendly website so I decided to select them. The enrollment process was straightforward and within 2 weeks she was covered.
On July 13th, she was bitten on her leg by another dog and required emergency care. This was not a life threatening injury as before but she was hospitalized and required many stitches. The bill was about $1,146 which I submitted to Healthy Paws for reimbursement. Within a few days I received a e-mail message from the company that they would cover 90% of the cost minus the office visit fee and the ann

Our Embrace Coverage Saved Our Dog from Cancer
We have a wonderful chocolate lab named Otter. While playing with him, we noticed a small abscess above one of his canine's in his mouth. We immediately took him in to the vet and were told it was likely a foxtail. We scheduled time for him to go and have it removed, but they did not find a foxtail. The vet took a biopsy and a culture, but given that he is only two years old, we were not too concerned that it would be cancer. When we got the news two days later that it was in fact Squamos Cell Carcinoma, a very aggressive skin cancer type cancer, we were beyond devastated. Thanks to Embrace, however, we were able to go in the next morning and meet with the surgeon to discuss our options. As we caught it so early, the cancer was still confined to the local area in his mouth, so the plan was to remove the cancer, which meant taking out part of his jaw. 4 business days after the diagnosis, Otter went in for surgery. Of course it is very difficult to see your dog in confusion and pain after surgery, but we knew we did the right thing. Given the magnitude of the surgery, Otter recovered surprisingly quickly and was back to himself within a week. The best news came, however, when they confirmed that the margins were clean on the area that they removed and that they were able to successfully remove the entire cancerous area. Having Embrace helped us make all the right decisions for Otter without having to worry as much about the financial implications. During times like

I am so impressed!
Thank you Embrace. We have had our policy with you for about 18 months and this was our first claim. Everything was so easy! The communication was great w/ emails at every step of the way. I only wish our medical insurance for the people in our family was so upfront and well organized.

Accident/Illness coverage helps!
Thankfully our dogs haven't had any serious illness or accident -- but, we've appreciated the partial coverage of small incidents such as a nail bed infection, front paw sprain and a scary lethargic dizziness episode.
