Great insurance!

I have used pet insurance in the past (for my horses)that has saved me many times but had never had insurance on my dogs. I have had my two doxies insured with Embrace for about 4 years now and have recently had to submit a claim for one of my dogs that had a slipped disk in his neck due to an accident. I had to take him to a specialty teaching vet hospital that had a neurology dept. I had the plan with a $500 deductible and then they pay 90% with a maximum coverage of $10,000. The total bill was almost $5000 and the only thing that they didn't pay was the prescription meds because I didn't have that extra coverage under my plan. The claim did take over a month to process, but they kept me informed through email apologizing for the delay and assured me that they were working on my claim. The reason that I chose Embrace was because I had researched the many companies and Embrace had the best reviews and the least problems covering claims.

Very Pleased with Healthy Paws!

I spent a lot of time doing research on the different pet insurance companies before deciding on Healthy Paws based on coverage, cost, and customer satisfaction. I definitely think I made the right decision by choosing them! To start with, they reviewed my dog's vet records and told me up front, in writing, what would and would not be covered as a pre-existing condition within the 30-day refund period. In addition, they were generous with their coverage; there were a few things I thought they would be within their right to classify as "pre-exisiting," but the only thing they said was that as long as my dog did not have another UTI within 9 months of his first one, anything that came up would be covered. Last week, my dog got into some chocolate and had to spend the night at the emergency vet. Healthy Paws covered the entire bill, except the office fee (which is not covered). As of my writing this, it has been 7 days since the incident, and I already have my reimbursement check. So here is the timeline: incident happened Tuesday, July 3rd; I picked my dog up from the vet and left the claims paperwork with the vet Wednesday, July 4th; I was emailed on Thursday, July 5th that my claim had been received, and again that my claim had been processed; on Monday, July 9th I received the reimbursement check in the mail (and it got sent to the wrong address first!). Did much research before getting pets best

I have 7 animals. My greatest fear was that something might happen and I would have to put one down because I could not afford the vet bill. I was able to afford the $500 deductible for all the animals. I am thrilled with the no hassle claims, the speed with which they are processed, and the real concern for the animal when I have spoken with customer service. One of my spaniels has glaucoma. There is never a problem with the opthamlogists visits and the meds she requires. 2 friends to whom I recommended pets best are equally happy after switching to pets best from another company.

Great customizable coverage!

Great communication from support staff, always felt like I was in the loop. Great customization options in the plan I put together. Wished there was a quicker turnaround time for claim reimbursement.

Healthy Paws has been awesome for my dog Niko, & I

I am so happy to have made the right choice for my pet, Niko. She is a St. Bernard who will be 2 in August. In March of this year she was diagnosed with Epilepsy, after several terrible seizures. I got her insurance with healthy paws last July, and it has been a life saver. She spent 3 nights in the emergency pet hospital, and I did not have to worry about paying for it, as well as worrying about her. We are still working out the dosage for her medications, and I could not be happier with Healthy Paws and how they have handled my claim. I am in the (people) insurance business, and have been in sales, claims, and customer service. So I understand the insurance industry, and they are wonderful. Niko and I thank you!!

Fair Claims Policies & Pre-existing Conditions

I'm very happy with this company thus far. Embrace's level of coverage is among the top I've encountered in pet insurance. With a pure-bred dog, I was excited to find an insurance company that did not exclude breed-specific conditions or that essentially considered having a pure-bred to be a pre-existing condition. Plus, Embrace was up front from the get go about what would be considered a pre-existing condition so that there wouldn't be any surprises on down the road. I really like the WAY that they handle claims, too. Scheduled plans really rip you off (ie VPI), and I am happy with Embrace's flexible coverage (you can choose your deductible, maximum coverage, and percentage to be reimbursed). All in all, I only have good things to say about this company. Whatever company you choose, I strongly warn you against choosing a pet insurance company that a) has a scheduled plan, b) will not cover breed-specific conditions, and/or c) will consider a claimed condition from one policy period to be a pre-existing condition in the following policy periods. Thanks for being an honest and fair company, Embrace!

Beneficial, Helpful and Completely Worth It

My 2 and a half year old dog had to undergo emergency spinal surgery in April for ruptured discs in her spine-- a common injury with her breed (she is part dachsund). I am extremely happy with Healthy Paws and how my claim was handled. Once I sent all the requried documents they took over and completed the claim in a timely, helpful manner. I also received a follow-up email asking about my dog's progress and recovery, which I thought was extremely thoughtful and kind. I will definitely recommend Healthy Paws insurance to everyone I know who has a pet.

Very Pleased

Our dog is now recovering from the second of 2 ACL surgeries. We have been very pleased with the customer service we received. Our questions have been replied to very promptly. Our only complaint was the length of time it took this time for reimbursement but that was apparently due to a new system being implemented. I would use Embrace again for future pets and recommend it to others.
