Very pleased so far!
We bought a Great Dane puppy (because we're apparently nuts) and had done extensive research on the breed beforehand. One of the things that kept popping up was the significant health problems they can have. We had heard about pet health insurance but had never looked into it.
I'm a huge comparison shopper so I went back and forth among the leading pet health insurance providers' web sites comparing, getting quotes, etc. and finally decided to go with Embrace even though they were relatively new.
In the first two months of owning our Great Dane he had a severe case of roundworms, a bladder infection and gastroenteritis. We submitted all the bills ($511.82) within a short time period and waited to see what we'd get back. In reviewing the Explanation of Benefits, they covered almost everything and rightly did not cover a few minor items. After deducting our 20% copay (which we selected at signup) we received in relatively short order almost $200 back even after the $200 annual deductible (which of course we hadn't paid yet given we just got the dog).
I am very pleased with the coverage and the cost (only $48 per month). Our experience has me sold on pet health insurance generally and on Embrace specifically. They are very communicative via email (I haven't tried to call).
I recommend them.

Healthy Paws Member for LIFE :)
My husband and I welcomed the first addition to our family this past April, our handsome Golden Doodle, that we named Oodles! The only way I was able to get my husband to agree to the name is that his nickname is Oodes! He is the sweetest little six month old puppy. I knew that vet bills could get very costly, so I shopped around for about a month trying to find the best pet insurance I could. Needless to say, the best one I could find was Healthy Paws based on monthly cost, yearly deductable and percentage of coverage. I knew if the time came for our baby to go to the vet god forbid if anything happened to him, I would rather worry about his health, than the cost of the medical bills. This definetly came sooner than I had ever expected! Two weeks ago our pup had aweful issues with his belly. We had to bring him to the ER Vet then 5 days later back to the vet because he was vomiting over and over again. He had x-rays and our vet thought that he was going to need surgery. I was a mess, because my six month old puppy may need to have surgery, but not because the cost of the surgery was $2,800 on the low end! I knew I had Healthy Paws, I was not worried about the costs, I was worried about getting my baby boy better. The vet recommended they keep him overnight and try a more conservative route before surgery since he wasn't in much pain, so that is just what we did. The next day they took more x-rays and after fasting him and pumping him with fluids the linear object

Healthy Paws rocks!
When we adopted a greyhound, I was aware that there would likely be times that health care was needed for non-life-threatening conditions that, all the same, could easily be quite expensive. So, I thought getting pet insurance would be a good idea.
After a lot of research on different insurers, I decided on Health Paws. We chose a policy that costs $50/month, with a $50 deductible.
A little over a month ago, our greyhound fell down a full flight of stairs and was immediately lame on her right rear leg. She couldn't bear any weight on it and, within an hour, it was terribly swollen and bruised. It was clear that she needed to be taken to the ER but, before doing so, I checked with Healthy Paws to make sure that such a visit would be covered.
The Healthy Paws customer care person's first response was of care and concern for our dog. She assured me that, other than the office visit cost and our deductible, Healthy Paws would cover all procedures, medications, and diagnostic tests. It sounded to good to be true--surely, there was 'small print' lurking in these benefits--but, at the time, it was enough for me to feel secure about going to the hospital.
X-rays showed that there wasn't a fracture, yet the swelling was really dramatic. Not only was her right hind leg swollen and discolored but, within a day, it had spread to her left hind leg. She was a deep, solid grape color throughout, and it kept spreading. First her legs, then her abdomen, up into her chest. It was a

Very happy with this pet insurance overall
Having this insurance helps to takes money out of the equation as I make pet care decisions (although no cost is too high, as far as my pets are concerned). I also like the idea that multiple pet owners pool resources through pet insurance, which means that more pets are likely to receive the care they require. ASPCA used a pdf form for claims, which is not set for saving. This makes the claim process unduly clunky; however, they say this is being changed.

Efficient and Responsive
I have two labrador retrievers, one of whom is getting up in years and consequently has greater medical issues (some on an ongoing basis). I chose ASPCA insurance several years ago after a careful review of alternative products. The process for submitting claims is comparatively easy and claims are handled efficiently and reasonably. Very satisfied overall.

Comes Highly Recommended by Breeder
We really did not shop around for pet insurance. Our breeder highly recommended this company and she's been in the breeding business for over 20 years. That was good enough for us. We've been very impressed with how easy the process has been and the customer service has been excellent! I wish my own medical insurance was this easy. The money we spent is well worth the peace of mind.
