Aspca dropped us due to age.

ASPCA dropped us due to age --11 and 14. We used level 2 accident and illness coverage with aspca for years. We have always been up to date with our payments and no lapse in coverage. The coverage was ok. We received a notice last month that our level 2 coverage will be canceled as of september. They were not going to offer that illness policy anymore. But they will sell us accident insurance. Hum. I called to inquire as this must be a mistake. We have been clients for years. Our illness and claims are are not out of control. Why would they just drop us? Why aren't we just being grandfathered in to any new policies with a payment adjustment of course. I was told, there had been a supplement, an optional additional charge, that I could have added to my insurance which sort of linked all preexisting conditions to our policy. For example, if dog #1 tore a ligament in jan-july coverage period--say june 15. Got the knee fixed, all was well, then showed up lame in same leg august 15, the next coverage period july-jan, the insurance doesn't cover since problem happened in 6 months prior to new coverage period. The additional OPTIONAL supplement policy linked the periods so that it would be covered in new policy period. We chose not to purchase this extra coverage. This year, this optional coverage is now manditory coverage, and in order to continue to have illness insurance, you must purchase this coverage. (we would have been happy to if we must). The

Healthy Paws is Top Notch

If only there was a company that insured humans with the same dedication and fairness as Healthy Paws insures animals. I've had a wonderful experience so far. I only had one issue, when the reimbursement I was due to receive was smaller than expected. The staff at Healthy Paws didn't try to tell me I was wrong, or to "deal with it," or that I didn't have a clear understanding of the policy, as most insurance companies would do. Instead, they pleasantly informed me they would look into it immediately. I got a call back 15 minutes later informing me there had been a minor clerical error that had accidentally classified part of my cat's procedure in the uncovered "exam fee" category. They fixed it immediately, apologized for the mistake and adjusted my reimbursement. The whole thing took 20 minutes to correct, and I was only on the phone for about 5 minutes of it. Really awesome experience from a thoroughly good company. I have been with Healthy Paws for about a year now and have no complaints, and I think things will continue that way.

Others can't compare to Pet's Best!

I have 1 dog and 5 cats insured by Pet's Best since 2009. Before that; I had a different insurance(VPI) which was extremely expensive, didn't insure older pets, had many conditions that weren't covered and the reimbursement amount was very little. After 6 months of doing research, I settled on Pet's Best and couldn't be happier! There is no age limit, very little restrictions as to what is covered ( even chiropractor and acupuncture services are covered)and they have so many different deductible and reimbursement options, all the way down to $0 deductibles with 100% reimbursement!! You can't even get that with human health insurance! I have two 14 yr. old cats (1 has mast cell cancer and hyperthyroidism),two 6 yr. old cats, one 4 yr. old cat and one 100+ lb. dog.I have varying deductibles and reimbursement amounts that average out to a$250 deductible with an 80% reimbursement. With all of that said, my monthly payments for all 5 pets is only $120/month! Also, the deductible is per illness/accident, NOT per visit.Example, my cat has a thyroid condition and has to constantly go back to the vet. I only had to "pay" the deductible ONE time. Every single time I take him back to the vet for his thyroid condition, I get reimbursed 90% of the bill without having to subtract his $250 deductible. Can't beat that! Other reasons as to why I LOVE having Pet's Best: !) Even though my cat is old and has acquired 2 conditions that are incurable,Pet's Best does not consider it a pre-existing

First claim in three years and so far, so good!

My yorkie has been having skin and eye allergy issues for the past month. We went to the vet four different times. I've had Embrace for three years and this is the first claim I've ever submitted. I submitted my claim 17 days ago and a check was sent out today. Their website currently quotes a time frame of 20-25 days. I did receive two emails letting me know that my claim was in line to be processed, so I knew that I wasn't left hanging. After submitting my claim, I reviewed my policy because I wanted to have an idea of what to expect and I needed a refresher of what was/was not covered under my policy. Their explanation of benefits form detailed out all the charges, what was covered, what it was covered under, and the amount I met for my deductible. The EOB form was very easy to follow. (I would say it is easier than my own personal insurance.) I've always been nervous about how my first claim would go, so I am pleased that I got back what I expected. I had no issues.

Payment

They weren't going to cover the cost of our claim at first because of a deductible exclusion, so I had to remind them that our claim fell within the 30-day trial period.

The best insurance

Kaycee had a ruptured cornea. The options were to save the eye with a corneal transplant or the cheaper method was to just remove the eye. Thanks to Embrace Insurance, we were able to save Kaycee's eye. Love you, Embrace.

Phew, that was close.

So we had Petsecure while our pup was just that - a pup. Then I found myself unemployed and having to buy a condo, so the 50 bucks a month seemed a little steep. Once she started hitting up daycare and we were settled again, I resigned up... lucky, because she started presenting a torn ACL/Luxating Patella a month later. Petsecure covered everything, including hydrotherapy, to 80%. They are always professional and helpful on the phone, and even paid the practice direct for her very pricey surgery. I'm quite happy with the service, but wish they'd be a little faster with claims. Also, it seems ridiculous that they don't pay for "routine maitenance" to me... shouldn't they be encouraging us to avoid illness and problems?

wonderful coverage

Hello,I've had two quite sick dogs over the past 2 years and ASPCA insurance has gotten me through some expensive care that would have been prohibitively expensive otherwise. I'm happy with the service and their concern for the well-being of our pets.
