THE insurance EVERY pet should have
This is my first experience with insurance for a pet and I am floored! I purchased insurance for my dog plus the wellness plan. The folks at Embrace have been in contact with me constantly, helping guide me thru the process. I was able to customize the insurance side to get to a workable premium number & I LOVE the wellness plan. For $300 I get $400 worth of wellness services! I've already used $155 for annual exam & shots & will no doubt use the remaining in a few weeks when it's time for her teeth cleaning. I was amazed to get an email just a few days after submitting the claim stating that my claim refund check for the full amount will be in my mailbox within 10 days! No fuss, no muss. This is very forward-thinking insurance. These people obviously understand that if you invest in preventative care up front, you're less likely to need the insurance on the back end. Fabulous experience from beginning to end, giving me much appreciated peace of mind. Only wish I had known about this when we first got her! ....now if only MY health insurance was so easy to work with...

It's all good!
Both my husband and I are retired and would not be able to afford a large vet bill, so I decided pet insurance was the way to go. We have a 7-year-old German Shepherd, whom we love dearly. We have had several claims and each time have been very satisfied with the outcome. However, be aware that problems common to a specific breed are not covered; i.e. hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, etc. Knowing that should she be in an accident or need surgery for bloat, tumors, etc., or become ill, she would be covered, and that is peace of mind.

I signed up with Trupanion 6 months ago when I adopted my greyhound. Very reasonable monthly premiums and I heard positive reviews about them. When my dog needed several stays at the emergency vet, Trupanion lived up to their promise and reimbursed me a good amount of the bill without any hassle. I was amazed and relieved!

Great product-beware renewal rates
I just received my first renewal notice and was disappointed that my rate was increased more than 15 %. I understand why rates increase but feel Healthy Paws was deceptive in the assertions made on its website that premiums would only "slightly" increase on an annual basis.
When questioned, a customer service representative stated That they hope to keep premiums under 10% but had to raise them higher due to an unusual claims this year. I don't see how even a 10% increase can ever be considered slight.
I would recommend for claim handling, but with a caution about how expensive your policy will be one day.
