My dog suffered from a reaction to sutures from his neuter and gastropexy and had to see the vet for wound care. This was not covered. I did not understand that finding. It seems as though more things used to be covered when I first got insurance for my other dogs 15 years ago.

We adopted Mia and her brother at 3 months old from Siamese Rescue. They’ve been insured since. I immediately learned what resorptive lesions with feline teeth involved when they both were diagnosed. I wish they didn’t have health problems, but I’m thankful for their coverage provided by Nationwide and VPI. Mia is now facing heart and thyroid problems. Excellent doctors and medications are helping to keep her issues under control.

The process is very simple and clearly explained on line. My claim took longer then the expected 10 days but I was notified of the delay and there was no confusion.

We have Healthy Paws insurance for all four of our pets - two dogs and two cats. Filing a claim is VERY easy (especially if you use the app) and reimbursement for services is very fast. We have had nothing but POSITIVE EXPERIENCES from Healthy Paws for every claim we've submitted. It was clear from the beginning what was covered (and what wasn't). For us, we wanted insurance to cover any major illnesses or extensive ER visits - we knew that checkups, dental cleanings, vaccines and pre-existing conditions would not be covered. If you've ever taken a pet to the ER vet, then you know those bills add up quickly! I can't say enough good things about having this insurance for our animals! It allows us to make medical decisions for our pets based on what is the right treatment for them, and not based on how much it costs. Our 6 year old dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year, and because we had pet insurance, we were able to give her the care she needed to make a full recovery...a year later she is living life like a puppy - full of energy, happy and healthy. We are thankful for our Nationwide coverage as we experienced an unexpected surgery once our dog tore his ACL. Nationwide was very quick in responding to each claim we submitted, not to mention taking a huge burden off of us financially since our pets operation was covered. Thank you Nationwide.

We have been with pets best for a few years and never had a claim. Unsure of how to file I called and asked. I was emailed full simple instructions to file. It was taken care of very quickly.
