Will never be without pet insurance again.
Purchase Pet Insurance for my Polish Lowland sheepdog thinking that I would never use it. After she injured her back hind leg (we still do not know how it was injured) and it did not improve with rest. She was found to have a torn ACL that needed to be repaired through surgery.
I was really expecting a hassle trying to file insurance since I had never used Pet Insurance with any of my past dogs. This couldn't be further from the truth, it was quite easy to complete and when I had question the customer service was excellent.
I am not easy to please when it comes to service and don't recommend a company unless I am completely impressed. I am completely impressed with Healthy Paws customer service and have recommended them to several friends.
The only suggestion I would have is to add the claim status to the user site or add a click to chat.
Thanks you have earned a life long customer.

I bought this insurance in Sept. My cat has been bitten by an unknown animal in his yard, gotten sick with the only sympton vomiting and at least one other visit to the vet, I forget what for. The claims were all accepted and paid in a timely manner. Questions I had were answered to my satisfaction. You never know when a pet will need extensive and expensive care, which is more likely they will, and this insurance can really pay off.

Quick, Easy and No-hassle
I have an insured 7 month old West White Highland Terrier who was admitted to the vet hospital for chronic vomiting. The claim I submitted was for hospitalization overnight, fluids, medications, referalls etc. I submitted my reimbursement request and within a few days I had an email updating me on the progress. The next day I received an email saying the cheque had been mailed out (including the amount and applicable deductions). It was all very nicely laid out and easy to follow. A few days later I received my cheques in the mail. I have submitted 3 claims to date and trupanion has held up their end. I usually have the cheques within the week and have never had an issue. I thoroughly recommend Trupanion and am very happy I made the choice to use them for my pet's insurance!

The holidays were happier thanks to Trupanion!
When we told our vet what our Bernese Mountain Dog, Baylor, managed to eat in his first 6 months (rope, bathroom rug, etc), he recommended pet insurance. We were actually there that day because Baylor developed a post- op infection after being neutered. We chose Trupanion and have already gotten our money's worth. Most recently, Baylor ate part of a glass Christmas ornament. We were all scared to death that Baylor could lacerate a number of organs as the glass passed through his system. We didn't have to worry about the costs of treatment thanks to Trupanion! Baylor turned 1 on Christmas Eve. We have no doubt that our mischievous "puppy" will cash in on the insurance policy many more times!

Beware of the fine print!!
In short this insurance is misleading especially if your like me and adopted your pet from a shelter or rescue agency.
They accepted my application and billed me monthly for almost a year before I submitted my first claim. My claim was denied because they stated they never received his veterinary records going back 12 months. When I applied for his insurance and was accepted I conveyed to them that I don't have this information due to my dog was a stray. They are now refusing to refund the money that I paid them in that time period. To say I was mislead is an understatement. I paid monthly, they accepted my payment and in return my dog was never really insured. I am truly disheartened by this experience and would not recommend this insurance to anyone at all.
