We recently purchased Embrace Pet Insurance for our Newfoundland puppy and our first interactions with the company have been great! Very easy to communicate and when submitting a Wellness Rewards claim we received our reimbersement quickly. I like the fact that they give you email updates when they receive your claim and when they mail your check.

Very friendly and knowledgeable customer service representatives. Received insurance check within a week of surgery. They emailed me to make sure I received the insurance payment and if I had not they were going to followup to find out where the check was. Glad I decided to take out pet insurance throug this company.

We have had Embrace insurance for many years now for our two dogs. Over the years, we have had a number of claims, all paid promptly. This year, our flat-coated retriever developed malignant histiocytosis, a nasty cancer that has required several rounds of chemotherapy. All of our claims have been addressed promptly and the communication has been excellent. Without insurance, we would be devastated. We chose Embrace specifically because they covered cancers like histiocytosis, which flatcoats are unfortunately prone to acquire. We are dealing with the stress of a cancer that is always fatal; it has been such a relief not to have to worry about the vet bills. Thank you, Embrace.

They kept me posted via email, as to the status of our claim throughout the entire process and provided answers to all my questions as well as a clear explanation of what was and was not covered. I worked so hard researching insurance companies, it came down to healthy paws and another similar one. My tip for you, 15 day waiting period, actually means 16 - one day to process the sign up, then 12:01 the next day + 15 days wait period...I did not see this clearly stated anywhere that I could fine, however they tell me it is (I signed up on web not on phone). So when I made an appointment for my puppy's vaccine I did the calculation 2 weeks + 1 day. There was nothing wrong, just a well visit, so might as well walk into the vet during coverage period rather than uninsured. Well unfortunately it was major, my poor pup had a severe reaction and needed emergency medical care of $200 (thank goodness he is fine), I was grateful I had waited the 15 days. After submitting the claim I was told how the first day sign up does not count and it actually began the following day and I am not covered. I think the part that annoys me most though...they had no problem billing me on sign up day and no problem billing me that day each month, but yet it doesn't count toward the wait period. I am sure they will cover things in the future, but just be better informed than I was, it could save you a bit of money.

But, if you start with a deductible and then change it to nothing, they can give you a bit of grief as they will try to relate the issue back to when you had a deductible. I understand that it's because they have had a lot of fraud, but it can be frustrating. In the end, I don't regret choosing Trupanion, and I still recommend them. The plan is amazing, and you are reimbursed quite quickly.

I am not totally happy with this insurance. I pay more out of pocket than I get in return. My claims are always not covered or go towards the deductible. I feel like I am just paying to say I have insurance but my insurance is not working for me. I am not happy that the individuals answering the emails get my two pets confused. I'll submit a claim for one dog and they are referencing my other dog.

User friendly claims administration. Ease of claims submissions and turn around time not usually found within insurance industry as a whole. Many companies figure out ways not to pay claims ASPCA pet insurance does the opposite. Was in insurance business for over 40 years and acted as broker /consultant for fortune 500 corporations and national non profits involving mass marketed products. These guys know what they are doing and do it well. A credit to the industry.
