good experience

I have a 3 year old Russian Blue cat. Recently he became very ill where he had thrown up over *20* times in a 12 hour period. I rushed him to the after hours emergency vet once I got home and saw the small piles of vomit all over my home. He received great care and the day after I faxed in my claim to trupanion. Within 2 days I received my first email. The communication was great. I received numerous emails with updates so I never felt I had to call for more information. The processing was just under a week. I was satisfied with the 90% payout which helped greatly, however was disappointed that the $165 emergency vet fee was not covered. My cat was in dire need of vet care and to find out that this fee was not covered did not sit well with me. What else was I supposed to do with my cat?

So easy

My dog needed surgery. The claims process went smoothly, and everyone was very nice and respectful. I'm really happy I went with embrace rather than some of the other pet insurance plans I had been looking at.

issue converage

During a dental procedure (not covered) a problem was found that required a biospy and extensive blood work with rather inconclusive results but pointing to a hypesensitivty to unknown source (have since changed to hypo food)so in other words, her immune system is out of whack causing ulcers on the back of her throat. My issue is despite the vet diagnosis, Embrace was quick to attribute this to dental and thus not cover. My concern here is not the money but Embrace making its own diagnosis contrary to the vet (who is the professional) and says this is NOT dental related. As this may be an ongoing problem, until Embrace recognizes my vet's diagnosis, any future bills attributed to this condition will not be covered as the company continues to call it dental. If have been waiting weeks to hear back on whether they will recognize this condition correctly or not. It makes me question the validity of the insurance and the willingness of the company to listen to the vet. it makes me hesitant to recommend this insurance at this time. (Ironically the condition they are saying she has is a common condition with King Charles Spaniels...not her breed.)

GETTING FASTER WITH THESE CLAIMS

This is a reasonable amount of turnover time. However it was a very simple claim that has been processed for us a couple of times before. I'm not sure if your turn around times for something major is adequateor not. Thsnks for improving though.

Fast, Easy, but not 100% coverage

Since this was our first claim, we were a little worried. Service was great, very fast repayment. Our only concern was the fact that the re-examination had to be paid for every time and since we took Max in 3 times in 72 hours for the same condition, we expected to pay only one examination fee.
