Satisfied with the 'Peace of Mind'
We have had Trupanion for the past two-plus years. Gives us the peace of mind should be, unfortunately, need to have medical care for our Cody. Extremely happy with the choice of Trupanion as it was due to a recommendation from our emergency vet that was the deciding factor on choosing Trupanion.
Have had to use in the past for another pup, our Cody, and added our new addition Jayda to the policy yesterday.
Recommend to all my pet loving friends.

Customer Service fine; Ridiculous underwriting
I switched from 24 pet watch to Figo only because 24 pet watch more than doubled my premium. I never had any trouble with 24 pet watch.
After I switched over I requested a chart review. There are no preexisting conditions for my cats as far as I know, but I wanted to be sure. My cats are now 5.5 years old. Weeks later a vet tech from Figo replied saying that she had to check with underwriting regarding diarrhea that one of my cats had when she was 6 months old. I responded that that issue was associated with long term antibiotics use when her WBC were elevated. It has been resolved since end of 2012, and every annual physical and fecal exam at the same vet showed no further notes of diarrhea or loose stool. I even requested them to expedite it because if they still see it as a pre-existing condition I still had a little time to renew with 24PetWatch. Weeks later the vet tech wrote back underwriting deemed it a pre-existing condition, just because the vet used the word “chronic” during the 2 months when she had diarrhea, completely ignoring the subsequent 5 years free of diarrhea. 2 months out of 6-8 month old is chronic, I agree, but 2 months with a 5 year break from symptoms? Really?
My vet wrote me a letter explaining my cat does not have diarrhea. He even called the vet tech I was talking to ask them what proof they need. While the vet tech showed understanding of the situation, she explained it was underwriting that had the final say. The best thing she could do was to attach the letter to my policy. So yea I suppose underwriting are just bots looking for words like ‘chronic’ or ‘latent’ or ‘dorment’ in the chart that those conditions automatically become a preexisting condition. Apparently they lack the ability to reason. 5 years in a cat is like 1/3 to 1/4 of their average life span.

Our Little Boy Had Sudden Retinal...
Our little boy had sudden retinal detachment in both eyes that Pet's Best would not cover because it happened too close to when we switched our pet's insurance over to Pet's Best. We lost the dog we knew and loved when he went instantly blind within a few minutes and he became scared to walk or hike with us. We did the surgery in only one eye because that was all we could afford without the insurance coverage. The surgery was successful, but several months later his only good eye's cornea became infected due to a scratch and resulted in a corneal ulcer. Pet's best has covered all of the care with the cornea quickly so I can pay my resulting credit card bills when they come due. Although he has now lost most of the sight in the good eye due to the ulcer, he is still able to see a small amount. Without the insurance coverage paying for the care of the ulcer, the money we spent on the surgery and the continued care needed to keep the cornea healthy and healing would have cost him his eyesight again and more than likely the depression over his loss of sight would have taken him too early in life.

A few more years with crazy Maisy
Maisy was diagnosed with a heart murmur last year, but recently it developed into severe mitral valve prolapse with a torn chordae, along with congestive heart failure. The hospitalization to stabilize her, ultrasounds, blood-work etc were all covered. She is now stable and on 3 medications that will give us a few more years together.
I never had to think twice about treatment decisions because we had Embrace. Choosing Embrace was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Helped with Maximo's brain tumor
We started Embrace not too long after Maximo (Max) joined my wife and I and made us a family. For roughly 5 years we would pay Embrace monthly and Max had no medical issues unlike the previous Boxers we had, we were close to cancelling our policy but we continued and luckily we did.
Approximately 2 months later in June 2016 Max had a focal seizure on his muzzle and then later that night a Grand Mal which we knew Max would never be the same. We gave him the best medical help we could from MRI's to latest medicines to help him fight the seizures.
Max passed away after not being able to recover from his last seizure in August 2017. Our greatest blessing was he was with us for 6.5 years...yes we are still upset and hurt at the same time as it was too short of time being a family.
We had the means to help Max the best way we could but having Embrace helped us by reimbursing our claims in a timely manner which helped us with getting back on track with bills. We are very glad that we had insurance through Embrace and we will again.
We want to thank their entire team with the support we needed and the condolences for our Maximo.
