First claim - smooth as butter
This was the first event in 4 years for my very active Terrier mix. I submitted my claim (online) the day I received my vet bill post-surgery. HealthyPaws was responsive, asked the vet directly for the medical history which was submitted promptly (thank you) and HealthyPaws direct-deposited the expected reimbursement within a couple of days to my bank account. Such peace of mind having this insurance to back up my decisions regarding medical care.

Always loved Metlife, but now they suck!
Last three clans, there were incompetent processors that wouldn’t even process the claim they closed it. I have a claim going on now that I put July 20, 2023 and still waiting for reimbursement and it’s August 23 of 2023. I understand a claim can take up to 30 days but it’s over 30 days.. because when I put the claim in 7/20 incompetent processors obviously did not know how to process anything and kept on saying I exhausted my benefits when I just basically renewed my policy. they will always have an excuse and think that you should not be upset when surgery for a dog is very costly and I’m not made out of money… then call today which they have an option of a Citibank payment, which was never offered to me so even if the claim is approved, I’ll have to wait over a week just to get the money into my account. I’m purely pissed and next year I will be going to another insurance company.. and I see that on this reviews that there are people that had much more claim of reimbursement then I do. But when it comes to my claims, they don’t no how to process it they don’t process it they closed it. I have a whole list where it’s just zeros when I sent the claim in one time and they’re trying to tell me it’s duplicates and they’re giving me the amount which actually was from an expired policy from last year, so that shows you how they don’t know how to process the policy . CEO should know what’s going on in these companies of his branches of Metlife. I don’t think he would be very happy unless he’s in on it they’re taking her time but they take that premium out pretty quickly.

A great company even better with Care Credit
I had the protection of this company's coverage 2020- 2023. They were very good with claims, though you could never speak to claims dept. directly. Filing a claim couldn't be easier. You just snap a photo of your paid invoice, answer.
A few simple questions, when, where & what for and submit.
They did have a feature that provided a turnaround time frame for a claim each time you filed, but I think that feature disappeared. That was disappointing. My Herbie cat was well cared for due to this insurance company. Even better after I got Care Credit in conjunction with the coverage. Cause the insurance company reimburses you after you submit a paid invoice. With Care Credit, they pay upfront and you can pay them back when the claim is completed by PETS BEST. I would definitely recommend this company in conjunction with Care Credit. It's an awesome way to provide necessary & needed care immediately, without worrying about the costs. Thank you for the coverage & service.

Garbage
Started with pc insurance, then these guys came in jacked up the monthly payments and the deductible,so now I was paying them monthly and out of my pocket to the vet ,because these guys raised my deductible to $400 ..in one month I payed $700 in total because 1 dog went in cost about $250 then my other dog had to go in for something different cost about 270 then I had to pay this scam $180.in about 8 years I paid about $10000 and have gotten nothing from these guys .better off opening a separate bank account and put that money there

Terrible Service
This insurance has taken off some coverage because the veterinary office inadvertently added something from our other dog, which has already passed away almost one year. The doctor has written a letter to my insurance explaining this error. I have sent multiple times detailed medical records, including doctor notes and the letter mentioned above. Now, 6 month later they are asking yet again for medical records. This is unacceptable and their service is less than mediocre.

Best Major Medical Policy
I have used several different pet insurance companies for various dogs in my life, but for major medical issues, I think Trupanion trumps them all. The one-time deductible for a given condition is unique in my experience, as most/all of the other companies' policies charge it again year after year for ongoing treatment of chronic conditions, and their claim processing is remarkably quick and efficient. Most of the time, there are only three or four days between claim and payment, and it's so convenient to have them deposit the payments into my checking account. It's not inexpensive, but neither is good veterinary care for our best four-legged friends. I'm very happy with Trupanion.

Thank goodness I had pet insurance!
My Oscar is my "heart" cat. He is so loving and has quite literally saved my life, (woke me up in the middle of the night tapping my face, alerting me to a blood sugar level of 40). I won't lie...I has recently been grumbling about how much I was paying for pet insurance on my three cats, and was thinking I could just put that premium into an interest bearing savings account. Well let me tell ya, there is no way I'd have had enough to cover Oscar's bill to save his life! It was many thousands of dollars and the insurance paid 90% of it. I'm so GLAD I'd paid for their insurance for so long! I won't be grumbling about it again, I can tell you!

IT'S pretty easy to put in claims with Met Life and most things I thought were covered really are. Love the peace of mind knowing if anything catastrophic happens, Deacon will be covered.

Horrible insurance company
Had them for last 3 year and they never want proccess claims. They try to find a way to not pay
In 3 yrs paying $75 per month they only paid $48 for one claims. What’s the point on getting insurance if YOU are looking for ways NOT pay -
Shame on this company I cancelled and went to anther provider

We’re sorry you were not satisfied with your plan. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the plan documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our plan. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our “Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions” page. Since the majority of your claims fell into one of the above categories, we could not provide coverage.
