IMHA & cancer but considered as single incident

Dog was feeling dumpy. Vet did bloodwork. Low hematocrit was noted among other things. Brought him home with meds but he wouldn't eat or drink and was obviously not well. Went to Iowa State Lloyd Veterinary Hospital. It was determined he had IMHA. After 3.5 weeks in ICU, 9 transfusions, as a last ditch effort a splenectomy was performed. After a rough go, he got better quickly but biopsies taken during surgery showed that he had cancer. Now began treating the cancer. Pets best considered cancer, IMHA and reactions to meds, transfursions etc all as one incident. That is like saying if you have pancreatic cancer and you break your finger, or something else unrelated, they just ignore the facts and say it is related and the reason for this is that they had a SINGLE INCIDENT PAYOUT in their policy which benefitted them since it limits their liability by saying everything that happened is all related. This just isn't true. Some dogs have IMHA and never get cancer and vice versa. There is no data that shows they have to be related but Pets Best chose to ignore this Trupanion apparently has no limit per incident.

Excellent Company!!!

I have been VERY impressed with the service fromHealthy Paws. The quick response time to claims and questions has been incredibly. The send e-mail to follow up Nd see how our dog is doing after any procedure and unfortunately he has had many in his 15 months. He had surgery last Tuesday. The claim was submitted that afternoon. I had an e-mail that evening explaining what was covered and the check arrived on Saturday! It has been the same for all his claims! I just wish BCBS was as easy to deal with. I recommend Healthy Paws to anyone who has or is getting a pet. I have told the vet to do the same. Our experience with Healthy Paws has been amazing.

Puppy ingested of foreign object

Our puppy had bad gastric issues due to ingesting a rubber band. We had to take her to the animal emergency clinic on the night it happend in which she had X-rays done. The following day we took her the vet since she wasn't keeping food or water down and they kept her for observing all day and had her on IVs and a catheter. We were very impressed with the response time of our claim. We received email updates throughout the process and within a week we had a response and the check was in the mail. Thankfully trupanion covered 90% of all the costs. Our pup is doing much better! :)

Quick and Easy

Within 3 days of submitting my Wellness claim, I was notified that everything was going to be covered and I would be receiving a check for the full amount within 10 days. I was kept up to date every step of the way.

Hooray for Pets Best

My elderly dog, Sophie, now almost 13 was diagnosed with Cushings disease and required multiple test, including an ultrasound, and several medictaions. She had an adverse reaction to one of the meds and had a crisis situation which required emergenchy treatment, more medications and a two day hospitalization. All in all the bills were high and I am so grateful to Pets Best for helping with this. It made a bad situation more bearable. I would recommend this insurance for all pet owners.

Very Happy

I am going on my 3rd year with your company and although most of my claims have been for wellness I still feel that you are one of the best after talking to other people that have insurance else where. I do recomend your company to as many people as I can, and find it interesting that so many people seem to balk at having insurance for their pet.

Healthy Paws, My Second Best Friend

When I found Wookie, my 8 week old Pom, a friend told me that pet health insurance is a must. So I did some research, and luckily I chose Healthy Paws. My little guy has had several health problems and needed hospitalization x-rays medicine, various procedures etc. over the past 2 years. I have never had to worry about whether I could afford his recommended treatment because I knew I could depend on Healthy Paws to be there for us. But, not only do they reimburse me quickly, and at 90%, no less, but I get emails and calls inquiring about how he's doing, and nice little notes with the reimbursement checks; which is unheard of with any other insurance I ever had. Certainly not my own health insurance company. So I thank you Healthy Paws, and my best friend, Wookie, thanks you too.

Couldn't be more pleased!

Last week, my 6+ month puppy, Penny Lane, needed emergency vet services. In the midst of the chaos of trying to get her to the vet ASAP, I could barely even remember who Penny's insurance provider was, let alone did I remember to grab her policy info on the way running out the door. Luckily, to my amazement, when I calmed down long enough to retrieve the info and call...the team at Healthy Paws so was amazing. They were so helpful and told me exactly what I needed to do when we got to the vet and they faxed the information over. It has been one week since the incident and I have already received my reimbursement check. I am so thankful to the team for all of their assistance, and caring enough to check in on my pup. I am so happy I chose Penny to be insured by such a wonderful company. They are the best!

Embrace your pet has wonderful customer service.

Even though you deal with the company through the Internet, the customer service and communication is very personal.
