Buyer beware - not for routine healthcare

We had a $177 routine checkup and ear infection bill for our otherwise healthy 3 1/2 year old Golden, which we dutifully submitted. After having the vet send several years of doctor's notes to Embrace, we finally got "reimbursed." Out of the $177, only $26.40 were eligible and were applied towards the $500 annual deductible. It turns out that only the ear infection antibiotic was covered. The heartworm test, heartworm preventative, and fecal test... all disallowed. So, this insurance is really for catastrophes and serious injuries, not for routine doctor visits. We hope that we don't ever have to use it. We still want the insurance, but we were very disappointed that all the routine charges were not applied to the deductible.

So Happy to have Insurance

My dog Molia has cancer and without this insurance would be very expensive for out of pocket. No questions and easy to file claims. They do exactly what they say. Thank You. I would recommend everyone have insurance 1 in 4 dogs get cancer. Still getting Chemo for her and we will continue to fight the cancer with the help of the insurance.

Great Customer Service and Easy Filing

Our dog is a complete lemon - a wonderful, cuddly lemon, but a lemon all the same. When she was a puppy we realized that health issues would be Charlie's constant companion and, after her irritable bowel disease diagnosis, we started shopping for pet insurance. Many of the companies that our vet recommended (including pet insurance giant VPI) refused to take her saying that her IBD was a preexisting condition and they would not take the risk. Pets Best not only took the risk, but has been incredible to deal with over the years. And deal with us they have! If health issues were dollar bills, I'd be a very wealthy person - urinary incontinence, Vitiligo, chronic ear infections and even a torn ACL that required surgery - Pets Best has been with us every step of the way. They've treated us fairly as far as reimbursement is concerned and their customer service is outstanding! Not only is their portal easy to use, but their phone reps are the nicest customer service reps I have ever dealt with. They will literally help you with ANYTHING to do with your policy - I have never once been told it wasn't their job and they have often had to go above and beyond to assist me with complex questions regarding my dog and her health. These guys really know their stuff and are more than willing to help you along the way. Yes - there are restrictions on what they will pay for (as with ALL insurance companies!), but if you read the contract before you buy you'll know whether or no

So far, so good.

All Wellness claims have been received and paid in a very timely manner. E-mails from the company are friendly sounding. Paperwork is easy to complete. The puppy is under a year old so we will see how it goes if and when other claims are to be filed. Thanks, Embrace!

A wake-up-call. Our fist puppy, Bandit got sick

After many many months of discussing the possibility for our family to become pet owners, we made the decision and adopted a male Morkie. We named him Bandit. Bandit is so cute that we couldn't resist but to LOVE him at first sight. As you can imagine (first time pet owners) he was (still is) the center of attention at our house. Since he was our new "baby" we wanted to make sure he was healthy so we schedule his first vet appointment asap. The appointment went well and our Bandit got his first round of vaccinations during that visit. The staff at the vet clinic discussed all the necessary information in order to make sure we knew how to take care of a puppy; to include pet insurance, Trupanion. To be honest, I looked at my husband and asked, pet what? insurance? why do we need to purchase that for? To make the long story short, I wasnt convinced but decided to enrolled Bandit immediately in the 30 day trial to get some time to do more research. Guess what? the next day, Bandit got sick. We didn't know what was wrong or what to do. I called the vet clinic but they were closed. They recommended for us to take him to the Emergency Services Clinic immediately. After many hours of examination, the vet decided that Bandit needed to spend the night at the clinic and proceed to give me a possible diagnostic and an estimate of the cost for her services. At that time, I understood why having pet insurance coverage is so important. Never in my life felt so good about purchasing

ASPCA saved our 3 year old cat!

After raising children and grandchildren, we picked a kitten out for us in our retirement years. She is loving, playful and smart. When we had our regular vet exam, he asked how often she threw up. We reported she threw up 1-2 times a month. He did a sonogram on the spot and detected a thickening of her small intestines. He suspected it could be cancer or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which if neglected could lead to cancer. It was alarming and so upsetting that our Addie would only live a short time or require complex treatment even if it wasn't cancer. We tracked her vomiting which increased from twice to 8 times only two months later. The vet performed surgery and sent samples of the bowel for study. That surgery was $1700.00, something we could not afford on our fixed income. There was a complex regime that followed to rule out any other cause of her vomiting, again expensive. The biopsy results were negative for cancer, thankfully, but we still had to find the protocol for her nutrition, probiotics, and vitamins to safe guard her health and give her the best possible quality of life for as long as possible. We could not be more grateful for ASPCA Insurance. Because of the insurance, she has had outstanding care from a feline specialist who caught the signs of her illness at its onset. We could not have provided this treatment without help. Our claims were handled promptly, leaving us a payment within our reach, and any time we have had contact with a representative; they wer

You Won't Regret Choosing Healthy Paws!!

A couple years ago, my husband and I decided to get pet insurance for our dogs because, having no kids of our own, our dogs are our family and we want to ensure we are always able to give them the care they deserve. We never want to have to make a decision to put them to sleep because we can't afford care. So, I started doinn research. I admit, I was a bit disheartened at what I saw at first. Most insurance companies won't cover some types of illness or injury that are "typical" of a breed... such as hip dysplasia in large breeds. Having a German Shepherd, this was a let down. Or their definition of a "pre-existing condition" is anything they had before the start of the CURRENT policy.. meaning, from year to year, you have a new policy and anything your dog had the previous year (even while being insured) has now become a pre-exiting condition. This too was frustrating. And then I found Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. What they offer is so good that I found myself reading through the policy multiple times because it seemed too good to be true! First, they cover hip dysplasia if it occurs. Second, after only a $250 they will cover 90% of the cost! And they even let you send in your smaller bills throughout the year and keep track of how much your deductible you have used. So you don't have to have one big expensive vet bill before you can use it. But best of all, for our first claim, we had a check from them in less than a week of submitting the claim! All it took was a s
