I have had my Bullmastiff insured since 6 weeks of age, and having Trupanion has made all the difference in the world! I've had ASPCA for a few years. They always pay late, but at least they paid. Recently they refused to pay a claim for a treatment my vet (and almost every other vet) considered routine, but they called "alternative" I did my homework and showed tham that the treatment is mainstream, but they continued to deny the claim.

What a great insurance company! My Maltese puppy, Magnolia, is only 1 year and 3 months old. When I noticed she was starting to have difficulty walking, I took her to a surgeon to have her examined. I got the devastating news that she needed surgery on both patellas (Bilateral MPL). I was in shock when I got the news. I filed my claim with Trupanion and within a month they paid 90 % of her surgical costs as promised in her policy. I would recommend Trupanion to anyone who has taken on the responsibility of caring for and loving a puppy. Thank you! Sheri and Magnolia DeBro

When purchasing this product no where did they say taxes where excluded in their list of items not covered. They say they cover actual vet costs. Well my vet costs included taxes. So I only received 77% of my bill. I only found out about the non tax was after submitting a bill. Prior to purchasing the policy there was no information about this. Otherwise I would have checked others that DO cover taxes and cover 90% up to $20,000. I feel this is an issue for the Financial Services Commission. Out of $10,000 bill I received back $7000.00. What do others think? Do your homework about everything. In Canada we pay taxes on everything! If its not excluded then it should be included. Sneaky sneaky!

Our boxer ruptured his CCL and required TPLO surgery. HealthyPaws was incredibly helpful throughout the claims process. No surprises just quick reimbursement! I highly recommend this great insurance company for all those active young pups!
