Wonderful pet insurance company

Wow! What a great company and what a change from the insurance we had before. We have 3 Afghan Hounds currently and have had 9 of them over the years, so we are used to the expense of owning dogs. But over the last 2 years we have had a lot of very expensive medical bills for our 2 older dogs including the removal of a 7 pound tumor; pneumonia and Pancreatitis. it was during this time that we found that our insurance coverage with VPI, which we had for years, wasn't worth a darn. They covered very little of the expense and were not very nice to deal with at all. We got an Afghan puppy last May and signed him up with VPI as we had done for all of our other dogs. But when our oldest dog got pneumonia and VPI covered very little of it ( no coverage for Oxygen...are you kidding me! ) we decided to look for a better company for the puppy. We decided on Trupanion and mistakenly waited until the one year contract with VPI was up before signing up with them. We have since then learned that we could have signed with Trupanion right away and they would have covered whatever VPI did not. So we started showing the puppy as soon as he turned 6 months and he has been doing great but after the show in Long Beach a few weeks ago he started choking and we took him to a Vet only to find that he has a very rare condition called Chylothorax which is very serious and in fact usually fatal if not treated immediately. In his case about 1 1/2 liters of Chyle got into his chest cavity causing o

EMBRACE ARE CROOKS!!!!!

Embrace tried to tell me that I did not have a valid claim on my dog going to the vet for an upset stomach. They said because my dog had notes of vomiting on prior vet records, that "vomiting" was a "pre-existing condition" and thus, could not be covered for a period of 12 months!!! First of all, vomiting is a SYMPTOM, not a CONDITION. And my dog, as per all my vet documents, was never diagnosed with a "pre-existing condition" of any kind!!!! THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY - TOTAL BS! I will tell every pet owner NEVER to get Embrace!!! I told my vet about their response to my claim for a $63 vet bill for his upset stomach, and my vet pulled all of the brochures from his office. HORRIBLE, AWFUL, DISGRACEFUL.

Great Service

My dog was only 4 months old. He fell off the porch and had a strangulation injury. He had to spend several days in the ICU. It was a stressful time. He was fine in the end. It was nice to know that most of the bill would be taken care of. There was no problem with reimbursment. The process was quick and smooth

Review

I don't have a good experience with this company. Bad customer service, deceiving ad and claiming even a small amount takes forever. 2 Thumbs Down!

Pleased with follow-up and claims

I am quite please with their follow up and claims processing. I do have a question as to how the deductible is applied but I have not yet contacted Trupanion about this. Also do not know why cost of follow-up office visits to vet for covered condition seem to deducted from reimbursements.

Pet illness is bad enough....

But it is worse when you are trying to juggle finances to pay for them. Thankfully, Embrace Pet Insuranced processed my claim quickly, helping to releve the financial stress.Thank you Embrace!
