Trupanion SUCKS. AVOID If your pet is injured, as of course, the vet examines them to see what is wrong and then treats it, trupanion doesn't pay for the Examination. How else is the vet supposed to treat the pet if they don't LOOK at it first? Also anything that involved breathing is a pre-existing condition and they apply a $200 deducitlbe to EVERYTHING. SO my dog was vomiting and had other gastro issues. A $920 bill paid out only about $90. They would not cover half the bill for the vet taking a look at her to see what was wrong becuase they "don't cover examinations" and they then applied a $200 deductible (not the first time this year--they apply a deductibe for each new issue, not per year) and paid $90 of what was left. Its a total scam--don't get it!

Trupanion is always immediately responsive and always provides the information or explanation I've requested.

Our dog needed medical tests to determine the problem. When nationwide decided the care was not covered because they claimed the breed sometimes gets the condition, they not only didn't pay for the procedure but also would not even pay for the tests. Medical experts suggested the tests could have had different outcomes.

Very easy to fill claims. Payment received quickly. I recommend this Pet Insurance for anyone who has a pet.

Thanks for checking on AJ. He’s a loving 12 year old mutt who was diagnosed with bone cancer within the last few months. We had some expensive tests and it was some comfort to know I had insurance to ease the financial burden. I’m opting to keep him comfortable with meds and look at each day as a bonus day in his life.

overall we are happy with this policy - although there were some questions/issues early on regarding what constitutes a pre-existing condition.

The entire process was extremely easy. Diesel became sick, bleeding in stool. Took him to the vets office that day. They did several test and gave his a shot and several medications. Three days later he was back to himself. I submitted my classes claim via the Mobil app, took about 2mins. I was notified my claim had been received and in review. Approximately three days later my claim was paid and a detailed statement was emailed to me. Pets Best has been awesome through both of my claims!!
