We were given Lulu in November 2012 by neighbors who no longer could keep her. We shopped around for insurance plans and decided to go with ASPCA (as we are also Guardian Members) because the had the best coverage plans. We signed Lulu up in February 2013. We had her spayed and paid for that ourselves, our vet offers a "vaccines for life" program, $60 one time fee and all vaccines are covered. Needless to say, we will only have claims for anything major (injury, etc). My only complaint is that the flea / heartworm preventative coverage is very low, $60/year. It's roughly $120/yr for each. I feel the reimbursement amount should be increased. The turnaround time for reimbursement has been excellent.

We adopted a rescue 5 yr old weimaraner in November. Almost 3 months after we had him, he got some bumps under his skin. Our vet suggested a biopsy and they turned out to be cancerous cells! The poor thing had to have surgery. It was about $1400 which insurance paid $800 (after $100 deductable). I was relieved I had insurance. It has also been a life savor for our cat (who recently passed). X-rays typically run $300 so to have insurance pay 80% is really worth it! I always tell people my animals have better insurance than me! $100 deductable with 80% reimbursement is a great insurance plan! I wish blue cross blue shield provided the same coverage!

But I was wrong, within a week I got my reimbursement and I was able to pay back my credit card. I've had very positive experiences with Embrace. I realized the need for pet insurance about 5 years ago when my dog started getting nose bleeds and the vet recommended a $1900 MRI to diagnose what turned out to be a nasal tumor. Never again did I want to make a life-or-death decision concerning my 4-legged babies based on how much money I had in my savings account. I knew the cost of the insurance premium would eventually pay for itself, and it did when my dog tore her ACL and needed major surgery. The pre-certification confirmed Embrace's claim... "everything is covered" except the RX (and that was by choice). I can't imagine having a dog in my family without pet insurance now... it's a real anxiety reducer!

Unfortunately, we've had several trips to the vet with our new Boston Terrier. Embrace has done an excellent job of keeping us updated on claim statuses and providing us with thorough explanations of their decisions. I've called their office with questions before and staff members are not only professional but very friendly. I would recommend Embrace to any pet owner!!

I have not had pet insurance for many years. Boy has it changed. I was pleasantly surprised. Embrace does things very quickly. I signed up and right away was reimbursed for her first visit.
