My claim took a little longer to process; it was my first, and vet records had to be forwarded not only from my vet, but also from the shelter that had cared for my dog prior to her adoption. I was prepared for the delay because the website clearly provided this information in the FAQ. I have to admit, after hearing stories of frustration about pet insurance in general, I was not quite convinced that it was a worthwhile investment until the reimbursement check actually arrived! Thank you, Healthy Paws, for not discriminating against older pets. Princess and I are very happy to have you on our side!

NO questions asked during reimbursement. The only thing I would recommend is to speed up the process. It would be very helpful to customers that had to pay up front cost. Besides that everything is great about the claim process. Easy to fill out and very helpful customer service. Good thing is I called again to speed up the process they were willing to accomodate

Have two Labrador Retrievers. One of them ate close to 100 paint balls. The other ate a few. Took them both to the doggy emergency room. The one that ate the most ended up having seizures and had to spend multiple nights while the other just spent one night and never really showed many symptoms. Both dogs are doing fine now. My experience with Healthy Paws was excellent. I filed two claims (one for each dog) and in both cases they were quick to answer questions and more importantly reimburse me for my claims. Healthy Paws was very easy to work with and quick!

My young dog swallowed parts of a toy that got stuck. The emergency surgery was costly and nerve-wracking. Trupanion handled my claim within a reasonable amount of time and paid just what they said they would. I am so glad I had Trupanion pet insurance when I really needed it!

We recently had occasion to put our Healthy Paws insurance policy on our puppy to the test. He had injured his paw on something, and it created an unexpected bill of over $500. We followed the easy to understand directions, submitted our claim, and within a couple of weeks we were reimbursed for the full amount due to us (less our deductible and co-insurance payment that we had selected). I highly recommend Healthy Paws. I am a preferred provider for many human health insurance companies, and my experience with Healthy Paws was completely painless compared to my experiences working with human health insurance company policies and practices. It crushed my when my beloved Pit mix Luna tore her ligament in her right knee while running on the beach. It became worse and worse as she aged and I had to deal with the awful choice of her living her life crippled or paying for a $4000 surgery i could not afford. Lucky i had embrace insurance and was able to choose my doctor which was UC Davis Veterinarian hospital (the best). Embrace covered the claim with no problems. They really made the ordeal much more bearable. Embrace is awesome and i researched tons of dog insurance companies before choosing them. I wish my own health insurance was as good as embrace...my dog has better coverage than me for less money :(

Healthy Paws is the 3rd pet insurance I have used. We used VIP which I did not like at all and I think Pet Plan. Healthy Paws is by far the best. They cover exactly what they say they are going to cover AND they are So nice and helpful. You can even get assistance via email after hours. I was so surprised at the end of the night when I sent an email wondering about a problem with my first claim that was cleared up in minutes via email and it was my misunderstanding. I received follow up emails about my pet's health and then emails explaining my reimbursement which was amazing. The monthly payment is reasonable for my $100 deductible and 90 % coverage and I can't believe how efficient and kind they are. I HIGHLY recommend Healthy Paws Insurance!!!! - and am so grateful I made the decision to use them.
