So glad we have it!

Abcess of unknown origin developed literally overnight, containing approx. 75cc of pus. There was no option to treat with only antibiotics. Surgery with drains plus meds. Tupanion didn't hesitate to cover $843 of the $930 bill.

Love Healthy Paws!

We have only had healthy paws for a few months when one of our dogs, Ruby, got a mass cell tumor. I wasn't worried about the cost to help her because we have Healthy Paws. Our plan is the $100 deductible and they pay 90% after that. Between the aspiration of the mass, the surgery to remove it, the lab testing the mass, and medications, our bill was over $400. They quickly reimbursed us over $300. We got the check from Healthy Paws in the mail before our credit card bill with Rubys surgery on it even came in the mail. We are very happy with Healthy Paws. They even email me to see how Ruby was doing after her surgery!

Be aware of claimed preexisting conditions

We have had Pets Best for over a year and have been happy with it until recently. After 2 claims were denied (one for ear infection and one for a hotspot), I called Pets Best to find out what's going on. Turned out that 8 months ago I took my dog to the vet to have his anal glands expressed as he was licking it excessively (no surprise there). Now I understand that anal glands were not covered and I was fine with that, however, what came out of this specific claim was that Pets Best determined that because my dog was licking his anal glands and was prescribed a cream to stop the irritation (or itching) by the vet, he was deemed to have "allergies" which Pets Best consider as a "preexisting condition". My dog has NEVER been treated for allergies ever by anyone or showed signs of allergies and now they are claiming ear infection, hotspots are all stemmed from allergies. I'm a healthcare provider myself, and I've never diagnosed a patient with an irritation on his arm as you-are-doomed-forever-allergies and just because a patient had bronchitis does not mean he has asthma, etc. I think it's unethical for them to claim all of these issues are related to allergies. The vet was visited for anal sacculitis for heaven's sake.

Healthy Paws saved my dog!!

My crazy dog figured out how to get under the house and in doing so herniated a disc in his back. He was unable to walk and go to the bathroom on his own. He ended up needing an emergency MRI and hemilaminectomy to remove the disc that was compressing his spinal cord. All this cost almost $7, 000. I would not have been able to help Diesel if I did not have healthy paws insurance. Diesel is doing great and recovering very well!  He is able to get up as well as go to the bathroom on his own now.  He is still a little wobbly on the right back leg, but we are so excited about his progress.   Thanks for the support!!

Wonderul Company

One dog with ACL surgery and 2 cats - one with basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma and resultant tail and toe amputations. The company is very responsive and immediately processes claims and payments. I just wish I had had such a caring and competent insurance company for my serious illnesses!

AMAZING for ongoing conditions.. in an older pet!

My eleven year old Pit Bull/Rhodesian Ridgeback mixed, male dog was diagnosed with heart disease last year; a diagnosis I never expected! His condition requires daily medication for the rest of his life and very expensive tests 2 times a year. Our insurance coverage with Pet's Best makes it possible for him to receive these on-going treatments. Not all insurance companies will cover conditions that are ongoing like this one, much less cover a pet of Bosco's age. Buying this insurance for Bosco was one of the smartest decisions I made!

Satisfied

When Taco got a severe bladder infection, I rushed himto my Vet. It took 4 to 6 weeks of medication to get him back to normal. I was so glad to see him healthy and back to his old self again. I was also very grateful I had his ASPCA insurance to fall back on to cover a great deal of the expenses to get him well. I don't know what I would of done without his pet insurance to help cover the costs. Taco is a big part of the family and we would all hate to lose him.

Love provider but cost for coverage is too high

I am now paying $73.53 per month which is ridiculous, thinking of cancelling. Would give a 10 overall rating but the cost brings it to a 6.

Reliable insurer

Sadie, six year old lab, was diagnosed with partially torn ACL. We arranged for surgery with an excellent specialist.I submitted the estimate of expenses, and was told ASPCA would cover 80%. The vet said her minenscus had also been torn and a piece of cartilage had detached. Poor pup had been in such pain. Her surgery has resulted in her complete recovery after her physical therapy with us. So great to not have to worry about insurance coverage while we were so worried about her well being. We greatly appreciate your reliable timely service. Thank you.
