Puts Health Insurance to Shame
I've worked as a medical secretary for the past 6 years and working with health insurance companies is a big part of my job. I am simply blown away by Embrace Pet Insurance in every category, so much so that I'm disappointed it's not available to humans!. The customer service may actually be the best I've ever gotten from any large company, insurance related or no. It is simply incredible how quick their employees are to reply to emails, and how kind and helpful their staff is. If you call them, you'll actually get a person on the phone right away! I am very grateful and glad that my pug has Embrace Insurance and recommend them to every pet owner I know. I live in NYC where veterinary bills are astronomical, and Embrace has helped cushioned the blow for many expensive crises. Two thumbs up!

Our dog died and Embrace was there for us
My family just went through every dog lover's worst nightmare, and Embrace was there for us. Our beloved 22-month old Labrador, Siska, got sick out of the blue and within a few days had to be euthanized because of liver failure. We ultimately learned it was cancer (lymphoma); there were no prior warning signs. We were shocked and devastated. And the vet bills, triggered by our regular vet and emergency specialists frantically trying to save Siska from what at the time was an unknown cause, were astronomical. Embrace was there for us at every step, both in terms of sympathy and financial coverage. We received kind, thoughtful e-mails and handwritten cards in the mail from multiple Embrace personnel. The multiple claims were processed promptly, and checks for 80% of the total cost (thousands of dollars) minus the deductible, sent just as promptly. Embrace also immediately cancelled our future insurance coverage and reimbursed us the pro rata portion of the annual premium that we no longer needed. There were no hassles or delays. We received the coverage we were promised. And Embrace handled the entire situation with a sense of grace and responsibility that was all we could have asked for in our emotionally fragile state. My family, unfortunately, is living proof that unexpected health disasters can strike even young dogs. If you love your dog and want protection against the astronomical bills that will result if disaster strikes, don't roll the dice. Get pet insur

Have had a good experience to date.
Embrace, though expensive, has handled three claims I have had with ease and expediently. Their website is also very easy to navigate. All in all, a good experience.

Glad I had this!
I've had the accidental plan for my dog since 2010 and thank goodness I did because just recently my maltese needed surgery for a torn CCL that was going to cost me over $2k!!! Although the entire amount was not covered, ASPCA helped cover the majority of the charges :) and my dog is doing very well now. It was a quick process that took about a week to process and for me to receive the check in the mail. Just be sure to submit all of your pets medical records from every vet to help speed up the process. Will definitely continue to have this insurance for my dog.

Outstanding Service
My female Cairn Terrier, Kenzie, suffered a partial tear of her right rear ACL. Her surgery was on 1/15/14, and the claim form for the services she received was submitted to Healthy Paws electronically on 1/20/14. I received a confirming email on 1/21/14 that the claim had been received and shortly after that (in a matter of a few minutes), I received an email advising that the claim had been processed and the Explanation of Benefits was attached. The total claim was for $2,300 and Healthy Paws advised they would reimburse $1,618. Today, Jan. 27, 2014, my reimbursement check arrived in the mail. I am employed in the insurance industry as a broker, and am extremely impressed with the timeliness and efficiency with which Kenzie's claim was handled. I wish human health insurance carriers were this efficient! I am extremely pleased with Health Paws and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Couldn't be happier
We adopted a dog and within a month, found out she was affected by a genetic health condition. She had to have major hip surgery. Healthy Paws saved the day. Between x-rays, medication, bloodwork, and the surgery the price really wracked up! At the end of it all, our cost out of pocket was only about $600. We have an 80% reimbursement plan so you can imagine all the bills! Claims are super easy to file and process quickly. Should you have a question, they are friendly and helpful. They even followed up after her surgery to see how she was doing!

The Real Deal - no gimmicks
Our Standard Poodle is not quite 3 years old. This month she was either bitten by something (spider?) or ingested something toxic. She was very, very ill for 8 days. I really thought she would die. We visited the emergency vet twice during this time, and our own vet numerous times. Each evening we scanned in our receipt from the vet, and by the next morning we had a processing response from Healthy Paws. We had a previous claim with them in 2012, also with excellent results. The caring and responsiveness of Healthy Paws really helps when you have a seriously ill or injured pet. We will never be without pet insurance!

Quick turn around, covered what they promised.
We adopted our dog Tucker four years ago and last April after a minor health scare (allergic reaction) we decided to take the plunge and purchase insurance for him and our other dog. Over the Christmas holidays Tucker started getting sick (vomiting) and after several panicked trips to the emergency vet an ultrasound reveled a foreign body that needed to be removed surgically.
Healthy Paws covered exactly what the policy said they'd cover which was 90% of everything less the exam fees. It took under the ten business days they promised to get the check out once we'd submitted our claim, really appreciated that. Each time we called with questions they answered them succinctly and clearly and went the extra mile to help us track down Tucker's previous medical history (we'd adopted him while serving in the military and his records were spread over several states).
A tip to other pet owners: when you contact your veterinarian's office for records ensure they end you the narrative treatment history not just the invoices, the treatment history is necessary for reimbursement.
Healthy Pets followed up with us inquiring about Tucker's health which I thought was nice.
Bottom line: they covered exactly what the policy claimed to cover and got us our reimbursement in less time then they promised so we'd definitely recommend them to other pet owners.

Thank Goodness for Healthy Paws!
I had to learn the hard way about having pet insurance but luckily I did. I have three cats insured with Healthy Paws and never had an issue, but of course I never had to file a claim. Then came TobySky. A beautiful husky that was left for dead. I was nursing him back to health in hopes of adopting him out. I knew I needed insurance but lets face it an old dog getting insurance??? I was skeptical but determined. I made sure Toby had all of his shots and got blood work, with a clean bill of health I applied to Healthy Paws and they accepted him with open arms. It wasn't a moment too soon because a few months later Toby developed dry eye syndrome and while on medication, his beautiful blue eye developed a deep ulcer (a complication that apparently can happen with dry eye). The day I found out I had to rush him to the emergency hospital and his eye was operated on. The bill was $2700. Without insurance he would have lost the eye as I would not have been able to afford the surgery. When I submitted the claim I was nervous, wondering if they would find some kind of loophole not to pay, but within 24hrs I received an email the claim was processing and another 24hrs later it was processed. Two days! Totally unheard of for insurance but that wasn't the end, a few days later they sent me an email just to check in on Toby. I am very fortunate to have found Healthy Paws. I am happy that all my pets are under them, the peace of mind is priceless. BTW we have decided to ke

Fast, Efficient Service
My dog Gracie has had three surgeries. An episioplasty for continual vaginal infections, a ruptured liagment on her right knee and a ruptured ligament on her left knee. Each time Healthy Paws has processed, approved and paid her claims within 72 hours. Gracie was a rescue puppy and not knowing her background I decided to get insurance. It turned out to be a wise choice. If you are considering getting pet insurance look no further. This company has the best customer service I have ever experienced!
