Full disclosure: I don't have any experience with any other pet insurance company, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. With that out of the way, first, the good: once my claims are approved, they are paid within a few days, and in the amount approved. Now, the bad: the first time I submitted the claim, Trupanion denied it based upon a very shaky line of reasoning. I realize that the company is in the business of trying not to pay (otherwise, they wouldn't make money), but they made what I felt was a pretty big leap (my vet thought so, too, and couldn't understand it) to connect two unrelated conditions, and I ended up having to get my vet to write a letter in order to straighten it out. The next time I shop for insurance, I will consider Trupanion, but I will probably shop around quite a bit, too, just to see what else is out there.

When we got our 8 week old lab we I thought it was crazy to spend money in insurance for a dog. Well I was so so wrong. Everything that can go wrong with outr dog does, and ASPCA pet insurance has allowed us to give him the care he needs. The claims are processed timely and we have never had a problem with coverage. The only negative remark I have is some of the medications he has been given are not covered very well. Other than that it' has been a life saver to have.

I got it for my 9 year old dog and 2 year old cat. They have been receptive, on top of things and for someone that likes to do things online - they were simple and quick. Responsive is key and I have to share, I didn't wait for anything. I am impressed and very, very happy with this company.

The submitted the paperwork to Truepanion and Truepanion stepped in straight away, an email to advise they'd received the claim and an email the next day to say it had been processed. We had enough to worry about with our puppy and were extremely grateful that the worry of payment was taken away. Thanks Truepanion!

I also appreciate that they sent me an email when they received the claim, and also when it was being processed, as well as letting me know by email how they were settling--all this before I got written confirmation in the mail. It was much easier and quicker than making a medical claim for my own medical expenses.
