We adopted Atz Lee, a shepherd/lab mix, 6/12/13. I got his on insurance on 6/14. We had to use it that week for Kennel cough. Then in Dec. he had to have surgery on one of his hips. Embrace made it very easy to send in our claims and answered all my questions. Everyone is pleasant, reimbursement comes quickly and they always follow up. We also purchased the well care coverage which has helped with vaccines and his upcoming neutering. Thank you Embrace Team!

As soon as I pick up her meds from the pharmacy I submit my claims & they mail a check reimbursing me within 1 week! Best insurance ever!! I had VPI insurance in the past with my previous dogs & they were horrif at paying claims. I would recommend trupanion to every pet lover!!

Just recently bought our dog and was told that we had a 60 day free trial of their insurance. Thinking it would be a great deal I tried it out and felt thankful when my dog got sick and had treatment. Trouble began immediately! Maybe it was because I was on a trial basis, but I hear nothing from them for several weeks in regards to my claim. I called them once and was told they'd have a response later next month! The second time I called I was told they received my claim almost 20 days AFTER I had sent it. When I finally got a reply it was to tell me that no invoice was included with my claim, even though I was with my vet and watched her attach all important documents and fax them with me in her office and I feel that telling us this was a slap to my vet's practice. After complaining, I'm later told that because we had just signed up they wouldn't help with our claim because it was within the first 30 days we signed up. What's the point of telling us we had a 60 day trial if we can't even use 30 of it. Will be looking for another pet insurance. Very disappointed.

My dog was diagnosed with a disease. Eight months later when it was time to renew the policy....Pets Best more than doubled the yearly amount. When I called about the increase, I was told it was because they changed underwriters. When I received the renewal notice this year....IT INCREASED BY ANOTHER $600. This time I was told it was because of her age and breed. I realize that policies need to increase.....but not by $1200 in two years. This company takes advantage of pet owners with sick pets. I am sure they will triple next year. I wish I would have known about Trupanion when I bought insurance for my pet.

Our Pitbull had a paw cyst removed when 2. No sign of cancer or reoccurence om the months to follow (he is now 4). After submitting full medical records last Aug 13, Embrace gladly accepted our dog for their coverage. However, this changed with his first illness claim 9 months later. Embrace replied their underwriter - erring on the side of safety for Embrace, deemed the cyst was possibly cancerous and therefore would be labeled a reoccuring and pre-existing cancerous condition warranting denial of any future cancer or mass removal claims when this young dog gets much older. I might add, despite the coverage denial for cancer, Embrace did not make any effort to reduce the monthly premium. Credit to them, they were very polite through the process, but it is like being stabbed in the heart with a knife while your attacker smiles. Needless to say, we won't be staying with Embrace any longer and unless you want to risk delayed coverage denial (for no valid reason) I would recommend you stay away from Embrace.

The claim was processed quickly, and payment arrived quickly too. The adjuster initially interpreted the invoice/medical records to reflect two conditions and thus applied two deductibles. I called and was told to have my vet email the appeals department to clarify that only one condition was diagnosed. The appeal process took a little longer than the initial claims process, but less time than was advertised. Trupanion incorporated the new information and reimbursed me for the second deductible. My vet's note also included a new, younger estimate of my dog's age, which Trupanion changed for me, which lowered my monthly premium. As a health care provider, I appreciate that Trupanion trusted my vet's judgment and treatment without question. All in all, it was an excellent experience and money well spent.

My claims were submitted automatically by the Receptionist at my Vet's office, and within 24 hours I received an email notice that it was being processed. When I called them with a question, the staff member was quick, cheerful, and inquired about my let's well-being. I have nothing but positive things to say about Trupanion.
