Quite a disappointment so far
To save on out-of-pocket costs for myself as the lone income, and well as considering the insurance company and multiple claims, I've always "bundled" services when a pet has to be put under. Not a recommendation with Nationwide. 2 pets had dental work done - around $375 each. One of the 2 pets also had a mass removed (not covered) for an additional $400 ($797 total). Nationwide only gave me credit towards my deductible for $65 of the $375 because they commented as the majority of the $797 was for the mass removal, which was totally incorrect. I left another pet insurance company, thinking I was going to get more (and I'm paying 35% more/month), but so far, it's not the case. Even though it's only been 6 months, I sure hope it improves.

Best decision ever!

Lots of care, little follow up on claims
I got a very heartfelt, call when my cat passed away suddenly. This was very kind. Yet when I filed claims both online and on the phone, they went unaddressed for weeks. (In the meantime, ASPCA continued to send me marketing emails weekly about buying the insurance I already had.) In a follow up call, I was told they would be handled in the next 4 days. Three weeks later I called and learned they had stopped trying to get my vet to fax them the records they needed to process the claim. Overall, I had a very frustrating process added to the pain of my difficult, sudden loss. Everytime I had to call to follow up, it brought the pain back.

Your dog/cat is part of your family. Your pet deserves to have insurance!
Maxine is now 7 1/2 years of age. She is a wonderful dog with a great disposition. To us she like our little child. She adores people everywhere we go. She's had some serious health issues that were totally unexpected. Nationwide Ins. was the best investment we have ever made. If you truly care about your pet, you should never be without insurance for it. I've seen so many folks who suffer because they just don't have insurance and don't feel they can do what is necessary for their pet to have a good life. Nationwide has been there for us and we truly do appreciate it. I really wish more folks would insure their pets.

Great coverage
My bulldog had to have entropian eye surgery because excessive tearing was irritating his skin. Nationwide covered a big chunk of the $800+ vet bill. I have been pleased with the coverage for routine visits as well as coverage for the unexpected. Reading the policy is key to understanding expected reimbursement.

Very happy with Embrace
We have had Embrace Pet Insurance for over 4 years and they are awesome! They pay claims as stated in their policy; we've never been denied a claim for a covered service. Also the claim and reimbursement process is very easy and quick. We currently have the accident and illness policy along with the wellness policy. We've been very happy and will continue to keep policies on our pets through them!

Claims submission
I often have difficulty with claims submission via fax. When I try to send it in, the fax machine often disconnects after 1 or 2 pages are sent. I fax many different businesses and Nationwide is the only company I have this problem with so I think the issue is with your fax machine. Since it does not transmit, I often get an email from your company saying information is incomplete. Then I am also worried to send again, or send via another method because I know you don't like duplicate submissions.
One other issue I had was I had 1 claim denied for preexisting. My dog had allergies that manifest in his feet with swelling and redness but this claim was for an actual cut on his paw....a cut is definitely not something that would be preexisting.

Speedy claims turn around!
I have had claims turned in from my vets office, specialty vet, and an ER visit. Embrace kept me posted as to the status of each claim via email. All were handled within a week of each visit and payment into my checking the next business day. Wow! Thank you!!
