I am recommending Trupanion to two family members right now especially due to my German Shepherds emergency surgery . Trupanion made it possible and simple in our time of confusion and fear.

Nice to know that Nationwide is there in times of need when our dog had to make an emergency visit to the vet.

This is the first time we have used pet insurance and we are so excited it is offered through my place of employment! So after the most recent (and first) claim I submitted - I realized that it would be very helpful if claims could be submitted via my smartphone as we can our own dependent care and health care claims (via another company) rather than printing off a claim form and sending via mail. The overall process was a bit labor intensive. Also- there seems to be a glitch in the website where it asked several times extra information about our pets - but would never save the info I submitted (I tried several times over a few day). I ended up telling someone I talked to via customer service, who was very helpful....she ended up entering this info for me.

The reimbursement was quick and easy to apply for and the money came in a reasonable period of time.

Your company is incredible. You truly are the best. We can get the best care for our babies and still be able to sleep at night because we have such great insurance. You are always there for us.

I have this insurance through my employer. I am so glad I signed up for it because it has been a true life saver! I do not have to worry about balancing vet bills into my budget. I never have to worry again about maybe one day having to make a tough choice between keeping my precious beagle alive with an expensive vet bill or getting behind of living expenses. After adopting two 6 year old dogs earlier this year and taking them to their initial vet / vaccine visit, I was recommended to take them in for dental work. In April I took them in for their dental visit where they needed teeth extracted. I submitted my claim just a few days later. After a couple weeks I was asked to submit more paperwork on my dogs to verify their vet visit - which put the claim into a 30 day review. After the 30 days went by I still had to follow up with more phone calls. It took 2 and a half months to get the claim completed.
