Great but needs to process claims quicker
We have had a great experience with Nationwide except for when one of our claims was denied. The reason listed for it being denied was untrue and inaccurate. I submitted a form to have it reviewed and it's taken months for it to be reviewed and addressed. I'm unhappy with how long this specific claim has taken but also in general, claims seem to take longer than expected to process. If there's one area Nationwide can work on, it is processing claims in a timely manner. Aside from this issue, they've been great.

This pet insurance does exactly what it says, reimburses exact.
I was really worried we wouldn't get reimbursed even though it was truly a freak accident. It was so much money and we were really scared. But we are glad it all worked out! The only thing that was a problem was the request of records. You guys requested the records and the vet sent them. But something was wrong with the fire wall or something so they never came through. I called on day 7 to see why it had not been reimbursed, and figured out a work around by forwarding from my email. That was an extra 7 days added with no reimbursement. It was scary, but it all worked out in the end. Everyone on the phone was SUPER SUPER nice. I will definitely be selling this to all of my friends.

Worth considering
Very friendly conversations and help over the phone. They hire well! The major hiccup was the 6 week delay in processing our December claim. If a person lives paycheck to paycheck, this would be a challenge.

Amazing service and delivery!
I had VPI insurance on my pets the last few years, then Nationwide after they merged. The transition was very smooth and I still get the best service. Everyone is always so kind, professional, and helpful. I recommended you to the Cat Hospital of Portland when they asked who I have covering my kitty, Count Flufferton. They were glad to hear that they had other options to recommend to their clients. I couldn’t say enough positive things about Nationwide!

So thankful for healthy paws pet insurance
When Mesa got sick, we took him to the vet and were told that it wasn't good. His liver enzymes were higher than their machine could count. We asked them if it was treatable and were told that it was but the cost would be high. I told them we had pet insurance and to do what they needed to do get him better. After 2 nights in the emergency vet, we took Mesa home and he is on his way to a full recovery. It cost more than $6000!! Less than a week later, we were reimbursed nearly $5000 from healthy paws. They are a godsend. The customer service was extraordinary and were pleasantly surprised by their concern and support. If there is one thing I would stress to pet owners, it is to get insurance on your pets. Although we would have done whatever we needed to help Mesa, having insurance made it so much easier.

My Exotic Shorthair "Extreme" Betty... the Calico sweet-heart.
So you've asked how Betty and I are doing? We are doing great!
Betty is a calico Short-Hair Exotic Extreme. The extreme part means she has a really short nose.
When I got her from the private breeder, she had fleas pretty bad, and it took four months of treatments from both the Vet and myself to get rid of those damn things. She also had tape (still fighting those) worms. The vet and I have treated them, and they are much reduced, but we are still finding them a tiny bit. We'll keep at it.
Otherwise, she has been healthy and playful. I've always adopted adult cats from the shelter, so Betty is my first kitten. Kittens... they are into EVERYTHING!
She is nine months old now. We got her spayed a couple months ago, and she didn't feel good for a couple of weeks... and we have had our shots and a chip.
There is one thing we will need to address after her fist birthday. About two months ago, she started snorting. She snorts whenever she's excited or curious about something. She sounds like a duck. I don't know if this is causing any real difficulty for her, but when her one year exam comes next March, I'm going to request the vet to find us a specialists that can see if there is anything that can be done to widen her lower nasal opening at her throat.
Love my Betty, and Love my Nationwide!
Thank you for everything,
-Betty & karl : )_
