Claims Rejected because of glitch on Nationwide's end & more!

My vet has gone to paperless documentation during the COVID-19 crisis. Because of that, I upload my documentation via the "attach PDF" button. I can see the PDF is attached when I submit the claim, however, each of my last 2 claims were rejected for missing documentation. The only option I have then is to mail the appropriate paperwork in, massively slowing down the payback times for these visits. The middle of a pandemic isn't the most convenient time to have to wait around for money. On top of that, my vet does not provide diagnosis on receipts. Never has, never will. I have had multiple claims kicked back because of this. Instead of calling the vet, I am docked and have to go track down the information and mail it in. This is especially frustrating because I was just docked almost $100 for a missing diagnosis on his yearly check-up. There's no diagnosis at a check-up. Now, not only do I have to go track down this information and mail it in, but I also have to explain to the insurance company that a diagnosis wasn't required on the claim. I went through the first year of using this company with minimal issues. We're one month in to his second year and I can't wait to get out. This has become nothing but a hassle. (PS - I emailed about the Attach PDF issue yesterday and still haven't heard back. Solid)

Stands Above The Rest

My wife and I were thinking about purchasing pet insurance so we had done a lot of research. It was clear that Nationwide stood out among the rest. One of the best factors is their customer service after the sale. The whole process from purchasing the insurance to getting paid for a claim is very quick. Last week one of our dogs that is covered needed some dental care that cost $2,000 and within three days of our vet filing a claim, a check was on the way for 90% reimbursement. What made our decision even easier was that my employer offered this optional insurance through payroll deduction. I would recommend Nationwide to any pet owner, just give them a chance.

Excellent Insurance

I submit my claims through the VitusVet mobile app. It's very quick and easy to use. Claims have almost always been handled quickly. On the few occasions when I've spoken with Customer Service, I have been very pleased with the friendly, efficient help that I've received.

Been great so far, no complaints

Initially when I was looking at plans there were an overwhelming number of negative reviews. My experience so far with my new puppy has been great. The vet submits the bill and I get reimbursed the about after my copay.

A great service that makes it easy for the insured to file and get claims back!

I love how easy the site is to file a claim and how up to date we are kept on the claim status. I am very pleased with our switch to Nationwide in Jan 2020.

Helpful for non-routine visits!

We have had this policy for a very long time and I have to be honest, we were thinking of cancelling it because we have paid and paid and never used it (thank GOODNESS). Luckily we kept it - we had a few issues arise with Hope (our oldest fur baby) and are very pleased with the coverage. Thank you for helping us take good care of our Hopie and our other fur babies too.

More follow-up required by me than expected

Took a bit longer than I would have expected to hear back about my claim submitted (had to wait until I received paper letter to know they needed more info). Then when I tried to have vet submit info there was no confirmation of receiving information and I had to follow up. Once I found out I had to resubmit info again, I got this time confirmation that it was received but no timetable if it was approved or process until I called back. A little frustrating to say the least as it seemed I had to initiate a lot of the follow up. Waiting now on the review process as they do it in order they’re received again.

Filing a claim and receiving payment couldn't be easier

I've used Nationwide Pet insurance for about three years now, and filing a claim online couldn't be easier. It took no time at all to submit my expenses and receive payment directly to my bank account online.
