Reliable and affordable!

The representatives at Trupanion are knowledgeable, helpful and diligent. I am very happy with the service and treatment for my canine family members, Bodhi and Che Che.

Great ease of use for claims and other type of medical insurance for my dog!

I originally had VPI Pet Insurance which then became Nationwide Pet Insurance. I do think Nationwide Pet Insurance does a more efficient job of processing claims quickly and while I was ok with VPI, it does seem as if Nationwide has improved on the entire pet insurance model.

ASPCA is an awesome pet insurance and one of the few that has a behavior component.

ASPCA has been a lifesaver for our family because of their behavior component of their insurance. Being able to work with a behavior vet has allowed us to better understand our pets needs so he can stay in our home safely. Making a claim is fairly simple especially when using their app. We have had very little issues in reaching someone in customer service to discuss claims or benefits. I would recommend this to any new pet owner!

Fairly Painless

It was a fairly painless process to submit a claim. I just wish there was a way to update a claim with further costs related to the initial issue.

Gave us peace of mind

We are so happy we selected Healthy Paws for our dog's health insurance. They have completed all of our claims very quickly with minimal effort on our end. It allowed us to focus on our girl's health rather than cost.

Started Out OK-Not So Much

Started out OK and a few items were paid as should be. My pup looked like he had an irritated Gum. Came home from the breeder and got his normal shots etc. Was treated for diarrhea. Typical, normal right after leaving a breeder. When claim was placed for teeth that needed pulled, Trupanion would not approve because they claimed, pre-existing. Doctors called Trupanion and said they disagreed. Pup recently went in for a diarrhea. Now Trupanion sends letter saying they wont pay for treatment due to Diarrhea in the future. So basically, They have paid for little of his illness related items. So I am not sure why to keep the insurance except for emergency service. Basically, received a letter that said they randomly check policies and they send out letters if there are things they no longer want to cover. Moral of the story, DO NOT take your dog to a vet until you have waited out the waiting period for the insurance. Expect to receive a letter if the dog gets seen for something twice.

We love our pet insurance!

I’m very happy with my Nationwide pet insurance policy. My partner is in graduate school, and I work for a non-profit. We can afford the $60 a month to make sure that our pet is safe when it comes to larger emergencies. Once we hit our deductible, most everything is paid for. This has been a life saver with our dog who developed allergies, and who we recently had to take to an emergency vet. We both wanted a forever friend out of undergrad, and insurance has helped us provide high quality care to our pup. I was on the fence about it for about 4 months before I finally decided to sign up. I’m thankful for it everyday!
